Don't want Howe, we need to appoint somebody with CL experience in my opinion, not somebody who is untested at the top level. People slate Wenger, and I agree that he's lost his edge and his time is coming to an end, but the big mistake people make is completely writing him off. He missed out on top 4 last season by 1 point, could quite easily have been your lot that missed out. He's also won a few pots in the last few years. Not the Prem or CL, but still added to Arsenal's and his overall record. Klopp has done nothing so far. He's building a decent team, but like Spurs, they need to win something otherwise it's all just hot air.
He's needed time to build a team, now he's getting there. I'm more than happy with Klopp, not sure I'd want anyone else given the choice right now. We do need to win things, not as badly as Spurs though as they never win anything and have a **** history (and Poch has been there longer). I'm fairly confident Liverpool will win a trophy under Klopp, but more importantly we're heading in the right direction. We were days away from going into administration about 5 years ago, so all good in the hood. Who do you want after Wenger then?
I think Klopp's a decent manager, and he should win you some pots. But like Wenger, he seems to have a massive blind spot when it comes to defence. I don't think VVD is going to suddenly transform your defence either. Seems more like a coaching issue. Both Wenger and Klopp seem to think that they can simply outscore the oppo to win games. I prefer that type of football to Mourinho's dirge, but there's a happy medium somewhere and I don't think Klopp or Wenger have got it. As for who replaces Wenger. I would love to see Simeone at Arsenal, it would be a complete culture change for the club though and I think he'll probably end up at Chelsea after Conte. The other manager I'd like to see at Arsenal is Allegri. I think his style would be more suited to us.
Yeah you can't play expansive football like we do and expect 1 new CB to make much difference, hopefully he'll organise things a bit but we'll still concede a shed load. I'm hoping the Alisson rumours are true, then we'll be on our way. Maybe add De Vrij in there too and we might win the world cup.
Liverpool: Karius, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Milner, Can, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mane, Firmino. FFS
You definitely need a new Keeper, Mignolet is mid table standard. As for defenders, the addition of quality in there can only help, but like I say I think it comes down to more of a coaching and tactical issue than personnel. Some of the best defending teams don't actually have particularly skillful ball playing defenders, but the art of defending is drilled into them and they make sure that they are always organised as a unit. I remember Thierry Henry saying once that it's much harder to create something than it is to break something up. An attacking player needs to have skill, guile, athleticism, a good brain and the ability to put it all together and execute it. Some of it you can't really coach, it's just down to natural ability and being able to do something spectacular to change a game. Not saying that defenders just need to be big cloggers, but coaching them as unit so that they all understand what they need to do is vital.
He goes to every home and away game in his Speedos, been doing it for a couple of years, all in aid of charity. He’s done a number of charity walks all for same cause. http://www.itv.com/news/2017-11-02/...etes-700-mile-liverpool-to-lyon-charity-walk/ https://mobile.twitter.com/speedomick
Fair play, legend I was thinking he just went to games in Speedo's and was going to question your idea of him being a legend..... so **** you
Nice bloke as well. I often thought he just went to the game in his skids and then changed when he got there........until I saw him walking to the game past Stanley park on his own one afternoon about 1.30
Haig sums up every spurs fans feelings today, as much as they try to hide it they know it's over, season done, no cl next year and probably no Kane or poch after that. Lolz
Come off it, Pix! Now that your club is ****e and is forever going to struggle to finish top 4 ever again, most Gooners will settle simply for finishing above us. Guaranteed. Any Gooner who says differently is a liar. We both know that, mate.
No mate, you captured it perfectly the first time. 'Finishing above Arsenal is everything' You even rate it higher than winning a trophy, which you dismiss as a mere 'bonus' to that prerequisite. Like I said, that is small club mentality summed up in a sentence
