It's not because we don't have any supporters, it's not the lack of facilities....

It's the fact that it's so ridiculous to buy tickets online! If you're buying more than one ticket you have to assign it to someone which makes taking a non-Portsmouth fan a mission in itself. I've had to register my friend who supports Ipswich to the Portsmouth database just so I can get him a ticket and I can't imagine he would otherwise be inclined to register to PFC! And even more annoyingly, it doesn't matter whether the game is home or away! Seems utterly ridiculous to me.

That does appear to be a crazy situation Lapras. Is this a new change to procedures this season at FP ?

Having to assign tickets seems to have started last season. The one before you could definitely buy unassigned tickets, but that in turn affected who could buy tickets for Wembley, as my son found out to his cost. You can still get unassigned seats for friendlies though.

It can't be the only reason though, annoying as it is.

I'm a Season Ticket Holder in the South Stand Enclosure - it is IMPOSSIBLE to buy a ticket online or over the phone for that section. I tried to get a ticket for the Cardiff game beside me for my son-in-law - computer shows FULL, telephone chappie says FULL. It is definitely NOT - there were tons of empties in that section at the Reading game, and it'll be the same at the Cardiff Game. In desperation I phoned the Ticket Office direct - option SIX - and got the booking within one minute............. Why the intrigue PFC ?????

Yeah it was the same system last season which is so annoying. Last time I took a friend to a game I bought the tickets over the phone. The woman asked me if the person was on the database and he wasn't but I didn't have to register him then.

I mean, fair enough if you can assign a second ticket if you want to, but it should be optional. Obviously the advantage of assigning a ticket means that they may be eligible for certain FA Cup tickets for example, if eligibility for certain FA Cup tickets isn't an issue, then you shouldn't have to assign a ticket for someone.

They need to add a 'guest' function to eTicket site really. Wonder if there is anyway to suggest that?

You have my greatest sympathy if that is the case. EVERY club needs to get the max number of fans through the turnstyles & this seems madness.
Perhaps you Pompey fans should be demanding answers from the club

It is a crazy situation, and a symptom of todays marketing edict that everyone should be on everyone else's database. It's nuts. Where did all these information gatherers come from?

Devon is quite right. What happened to the days when you could tap up a mate on Saturday morning and think- lets do the footy this afternoon. Sadly, that doesn't seem to happen anymore. I was shocked at the attendance of both Brighton and Reading matches. Something is most definitely wrong when there's empty seats for those two fixtures.

It's sad, so sad, it's a sad sad situation..... and it's getting more and more absurd.

Anyhow, I'm tempted to e-mail Portsmouth on this matter. So inconvenient.
