Charlton Athletic boss Karl Robinson says his plans for the January transfer window are being affected by a possible takeover of the club. Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet is in talks with various parties about selling the south-east London outfit. "We're in a difficult place," Robinson told BBC Radio Kent. "We've been told they are looking to sell the club and I don't have much clarity on that. There's due diligence and so many things going on." Katrien Meire left the role of chief executive at The Valley in December and is not going to be replaced while Duchatelet, who bought the club in January 2014, reviews Charlton's management structure. The Addicks have gone eight games without a win in League One, slipping from fourth in the table to ninth, four points off the play-offs. Robinson has brought in Arsenal forward Stephy Mavididi on loan until the end of the season but the former MK Dons manager says any further additions are unlikely under the current circumstances. "I want to get promoted and we would, if we get our players fit and get the players we want to get in. Sometimes things are taken out of your control," the 37-year-old added. "I don't think anybody knows whether they have the funds to do it [the takeover], whether it is two weeks, four weeks, two months or the end of the season. "You don't know, if people come in, what the budget may be. There will be people who will be very football-minded and want to achieve something with this club. "This is a great club to buy and fans will be supportive of everything you want to do if it is done in the right way." Meanwhile, Robinson says striker Leon Best is expected to be sidelined for up to a year with a knee injury. The 31-year-old former Newcastle, Blackburn and Ipswich man has made five league appearances for Charlton since joining on an initial two-month deal in November.
KR had an interest in Kieffer Moore I believe? Peterborough United boss Grant McCann has advised the club not to sign Ipswich striker Kieffer Moore as it would be a "big financial commitment". Posh director of football Barry Fry said on Wednesday that a fee had been agreed for the 25-year-old forward. Moore spent the first half of the season on loan at Rotherham, scoring 13 goals for the Millers in League One. "As much as I'd like the boy here to give us help, he is going to cost a lot of money," McCann said. "The club have tried with Ipswich but he's expensive and it's something I'd probably advise the chairman and Barry to stay away from, because it is a big financial commitment. "The chairman and Barry will make that decision." Meanwhile, McCann says Posh striker Ricky Miller will leave as soon as the club receive an "acceptable" offer, although he is keen to keep midfielder Callum Chettle when he returns from his loan spell at AFC Fylde. "He'll not be walking away from this club at the end of the season," he told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. "The club will take up his one-year option - I'm sure there'll be a new deal in place for him."
Why should he? He called us a "basket case of a club" before he signed for us. He joined us knowing he would get an early pay off.

Jeez. Did anyone apart from Robbo not see this? Outgoing owner in refusal to spend more money on transfers shock!! Ffs Robbo, you were here when Lookman went- how many hundreds of pounds did you get to spend? Besides, as WillieThorne points out, the war chest was dependent on being in the promotion frame. You need a funny shaped frame to squeeze us in. The plus is it does sound like new owners are nearly here. Who they are and how they will behave is one for the future, though I bet Roland doesn't give a flying duck if they turn out to be the mutated offdpring of the Oystons. But for now, the season is fizzling out.
