I feel that we're the closest to being given the news that we really want than we've ever been. But if this tale proves a pathway to another non-event, then there'll be an almighty state of depression across the whole of Tyneside. It's a proper state of anticipation. It really MUST come off.
Whats also odd is the lack of Charnley (or Barnes) anywhere for a while. Or am I just so used to blanking the baldy twat from my mind I haven’t noticed him?
I see the chronicle are stirring by saying that it's all bollocks. They have no idea. This is a done deal and will be announced soon. Non-disclosure agreement. So if Staveley denies anything it's because of that.
The chronicle have had to get their facts from Twitter and are basically last to know. This has hurt them deeply I think.
It’s funny when they put an article out saying the NDA means no one can confirm things... then put a story out quoting a supposed ‘source’...
This is the media's nightmare. It's pretty obvious Desmond (Star or Express) has the rights along with the BBC and so all the local rags, and even the bigger ones, are left picking up scraps. They desperately need to look more ITK than the average twitter moron (i.e. me) but on this one are failing. They're failing even more because they're not getting the snippets first either, so when the Chronic misses the companies house thing, they have to say "nah, it's rubbish, we checked". Stupid thing to write, really, as they should realise internally that they HAVE to be told no. I'm serious, though, about Barnes and Charnley. Those goons were everywhere over the Summer; I don't think I've seen either for yonks. Even Rafa said "we're meeting to chat" and usually a local rag gets a shot of Rafa and Baldy heading into Darsley.
Charnley's looking for cleaning jobs. He'd never get another MD job anywhere. Must be ****ting himself.
@Commachio please do a live vlog if and when this happens mate. I think you could make some seriously good footage.
12 hours behind the Companies House news so have to dress it up using their 'sources.' Would love to see the takeover be announced and them left with little to publish.
You would thInk that a decent journo would, from day 1 look at how the City deal went through and at all the event leading up to it... ie the setting up of a vehicle company. It takes 2 mins to check daily and they could have been ahead of the curve on this one as soon as Mandy’s new company popped up.
Journalism's been dying for years, mate. Low pay plus the uprising of social media has shown them up. Only a handful left worth a damn. George Caulkin at least has contacts, but knows he's in the dark with this. Matthew Syed's decent an'all.
NDAs will usually relate to confidential information they are being allowed to see about the company/club. Can't really see it covering some new company that the potential buyer has set up.
They do. They are a two way thing and can relate to both parties and all info relating to the deal (including methods and mode of transfer of ownership). I’ve done a couple of acquisitions in the past and this is actually standard practice.
I actually am getting a little frustrated by it all now. News is now that Ashley won’t accept money from Staveley for transfers. This is a big indication that the deal is not imminent. I am sure that pcp would be getting frustrated now aswell. Them guys don’t mess about whereas Ashley likes to be the big balls and he would gladly piss them about. It’s worrying me a little because if the deal collapses, which may happen, all positivity would be slapped away leaving a right mess. No money for transfers and Rafa being in a right strop. I just wish it would conclude one way or another so we can move on.
I’m ok with that. I’ve had two kids and I don’t want any more. But it would be like a kick to the knackers like!
