Kind of, I knew who he was because he's the only team-mate not to score a point while his team-mate becomes WDC, that's his 'claim to fame'
I've mentioned him a few times on the forum, but yeah, it's a hard one, should we make a '80's and beyond' rule? funnily enough he actually earned the drive, rather than paid for it, with a huge team of the time.
No, I think all years are fine. Some may be harder than others, or it may be one of those weird ones that you just happen to know. All adds to the fun.
OKay, powers of deduction :- Rindt won 5 races in 1970, but did sod all else before the accident, so not that year. It isn't 71 73, 76, 77, 78 or 79 as I know (or am pretty sure) their teammates all scored points. So the way I see it that leaves 72, 74 and 75 as the possible years. Am I on the right track?
75 was Lauda and I can't believe his team mate would not have scored any points in a Ferrari, so we're left with 72 and 74, both Fittipaldi years. 72 was Lotus, 74 was McLaren. And that's as far as I got as have no idea who his teammates were in either year!
it was Lotus, if that helps. He was an Aussie, if that helps. And reigning F3 champion, again, if that helps. please log in to view this image And here's a photo, taken upon hearing he's unknown to most Not606 forum members. Does that help
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you, Dave Walker. A multiple championship winner in F3, totally dominating the 1971 F3 championship by winning 25 of the 32 races, he just couldn't make the grade in F1, despite being given a dominant car. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Walker_(racing_driver) https://theparabolica.wordpress.com...-drivers-in-f1-history-number-13-dave-walker/
Still never heard of him Anyone got a new one? Open floor (I can't think of one at the moment but will try later if no one has jumped it beforehand).
Quick one, What is the lowest number of points scored by a WDC defending his championship in the following season (not including those who did not compete)? I want :- 1. Name 2. Year 3. Points and I want them now. A person who gets any of the above right first gets a biscuit for each one.
