We've got no choice though mate. Shorts apparently putting ****-all into the transfer pool so we can only buy from sales. He doesn't seem to care about the club or his investment anymore, his interests must have moved on, so we'll have to live on a shoe string. And yes, you weren't wrong in what you said, but that's down to the naivety, stupidity or whatever you want to call it of the owner. He just doesn't seem to be interested mate.
I think the very real threat of relegation and the club losing a lot of value will be keeping him interested. I believe that the worry of that will force his hand into providing some funding, may well be wrong but I don't see him as the cavalier type to risk losing a lot of money when the alternative is spending a small amount.
I really hope that Coleman's loans include at least 2 who are mobile with a physical presence, championship ready and not injury prone
What if I'd written that post this time last year? You'd be writing that same response Nacho, genuinely believing every word of it. One year on mate. The guy doesn't care about his investment. Not the last few seasons. Not this.
I don't think so. There's a difference between a club that yo-yos between the prem and the championship and one that is at risk of fading into obscurity and becoming worthless. He wants to sell and is trying to do so now more than ever. If we're relegated again he'll get nothing. I know that he doesn't care about the club, but releasing some transfer funds is the only sensible thing to do from an entirely selfish viewpoint, as in from Short's viewpoint.
Get him sold quickly so that we have time to bring replacements in. He's managed to get a reputation amongst the fanbase of being a good player for us, but he only ever shows flashes of what he can do - he very rarely puts it all together to really influence a game like he should. As long as we bring in someone else with physicality who is mobile I think that we'll not really miss him. Can't really see Short putting his hand in his pocket to help the club out - he appears to have accepted that he is going to lose money on his investment in us and just doesn't want to lose anymore. I don't even think he particularly cares about the club's falling value.
Yep - agree. I had a pint with Arca after a Shields match a few months back, and the conversation drifted to SAFC. He was puzzled as to what N'Dong brings to the team
He is only interested in sales so he can pocket the money IM sure we will not buy we will only get loans
This, and for the price and wage he's on we need him fit and we need him consistent. He's failed on both accounts.
I think that Ndong is ok, but he has to go, and Short will claim as much money as he can. The sooner the high earners go, the quicker that we can rebuild.
You're not. I think him and McNair would be our best pairing in there. Or even play him wide as he looked very good out there earlier this season (albeit for one game) That said, Coleman's recent interviews suggest he might be going as he only brought up Cattermole, McNair and Gibson when talking about central mid fitness. No N'Dong or Rodwell. Or I may be reading too much into it!! I like him because he tries the unexpected. Eye of a needle passes and slide rules to create. He gives the ball away from time to time but he normally does it trying to move us into an attacking position.
You're not, on his game he's a beast, best in our squad, but he's a top earner and should be running the show every game, but that's only been about twices this season. Judgement call for me and I reckon we can we bring 2 or 3 player that can do more to keep us up than he is currently doing. Sunderland is bigger than Ndong as far as I'm concerned and he hasn't done the business to warrant fighting to keep him imo.
He's for sale anyway so what's the point? Not the brightest spark considering he'll have been offered around like a 2 dollar hooker
I really hope he goes. Hes done absolutely feck all to justify anywhere near his hefty fee and inflated wages. A combined fee of 21m for him and Djilobodji last season is an absolute pish take. Its no wonder were in the mess we are. Were an embarassment of a club.
Pretty much nailed it. He’s our best player, and potentially a top, top player, but he hasn’t done enough regularly for us to turn down a deal. We need to free up funds and he’s hardly the heartbeat of the team, it’s needs just so if he has to go then so be it.
