We will lose. Obviously. We can’t score goals, can’t defend and a manager who knows less about football than my gran.
DO you not think that winning this weekend might actually be to the benefit of our league form? Can you imagine what losing to Fulham will do for morale and confidence? Gotta win it for me.
Good thing that this huge match between two top sides has the best referee in the country officiating!
are Fulham's reserves better than ours? (although our team changes so much I'm not sure which is the first 11 and the second 11?)
Yes I had thought of that. But I don't think MP2 is capable of managing 1 set of games with any degree of competence, let alone having a cup run. Yes it will dent morale but we can spend all our time focusing on 1 competition. We have seen that 1 win does not give us any momentum, even the good performance at old trafford didn't help us last night.
Fulham are on a very good run at the moment .... Mrs SIS has stopped asking me what the score is .... and doesn't understand why I stopped shouting RIIICKIIIEEEE! three years ago .... and I'm not predicting we'll win. Hard Times indeed!
If anyone has a spare ticket I'd be delighted to take it off them. Or if someone has a ticket and just doesn't want to go
I'd take a loss only if it was guaranteed that we didn't have the same manager afterwards. Otherwise I want to win, because I want to win all the games.
It is strange feeling a bit apathetic about this match because I want saints to do something about the league position. Usually the 3rd round tie is a game where I always hope we are at home and is one I eagerly look forward to. In many respects, this is the best game of the season and it has always held a bit of magic. The odd thing is out the league seems to dominate when, a fan growing up in the 1970's, going out of the FA cup to a lower league team was the height of shame. Losing to Fulham would not be much of a disgrace but might precipitate the board's belief that the team is as bad as the fans have been telling them. Good job we are not playing Pompey as that could be embarrassing in present circumstances.
We will win this game, I have no doubt about that. That's what we do now, there's a pattern. When expected to lose, we put up a encouraging fight......and lose. When expected to win, we put in some sort of woefully inept performance and come away with either a draw or defeat. Then, when some meaningless game comes along we sail through to give the dead man walking more time to let the rot take hold. Easy 2-0. Shane Long brace to rub in the irony.
We need a win...any win. The damage done by a loss would be far greater than the difficulty of playing extra games. An EPL team should be able to fight on 2 fronts. We do better against top 6 sides, lose to lower EPL sides, so I expect to lose 3-0 to a Championship side.
Any win would be Fulham. We need a league win. I cannot see Watford, Spurs or Brighton letting us get away with that.
Agree, but MP2 is not a premiership quality manager. The operative word there is fight, we don't seem to be able to do anything of the sort.
Did anyone else go to the Wolves game? They beat us with ease, and they’re a championship side too...
