What gives with these questions? I'm usually pretty good with helmets. Hopefully it will pop in to my head on the drive home tonight.
Nope, it's none of the above. Diniz close though, in design but it's more like this please log in to view this image
Well.... That's Carlos Pace as far as I can tell, but the one you posted doesn't look like the complete design and is clearly a more modern era lid. Somebody else have that design as well as Diniz in the oven?
No, it's not. This is a driver from the late 70's - early 80's who drove for 6 teams, including Tyrrell and Williams. I probably should've avoided helmets, there seems to be a shortage of originality in their design.
Thanks for that! If it was a Frenchie, my other guess was Jean Pierre Jarier, but not now 100% convinced he drove a Williams. I remember Derek Daly crashing at Monaco in a Tyrrell in 81 over the top of everyone (think he crashed with Jarier), and then again in 82 in a Williams in that crazy race where he ended up with no front or rear wing, but no idea what his helmet looked like.
Bugger , I may have got that had I bothered to look , but probably would not . Laffites aw as exciting as Arnoux's .....
Coolio, that was a bit of a random guess! To keep it in the engine theme for me, who is credited as being the first producer of a V10 engine in Formula 1? To help along the way, the year is 1986 when the unit was tested in anticipation of the banning of turbo's from 1988 and the restrictions to them in 1987 and 1988.
No, but I thought the V10 he did do for Jordan was massively underrated. Cried out for a manufacturer to pour some money into it and turn it into something amazing.
