This is why I'm not sure why so many were against his appointment for Norwich had it have been on the cards. Not an exciting appointment, but super experienced and a good solid organiser. Look at the latest inexperienced experiment, could we be doing any worse with Woy? Bah!
It's because they were sold to an American billionaire who lost interest in his new plaything and is now desperately trying to sell the club without investing any more money in the team. Be very careful what you wish for.
There is no guarantee whatsoever that external investment leads to a 'crash & burn' situation. You pro-Delia types love to spread rumours to that effect but it doesn't have to be that way. And isn't, in many well run clubs with foreign ownership / investment.
Excellent post General and I have to agree with you. However - Whilst I admire Roy and what he has achieved, I am still in favour of NCFC's current approach and I'm still 'glass half-full' that it will work out. Edit - Having said, my previous statement is only valid if both JM and AP are still at CR 4 weeks tomorrow.
I agree with the urrent DoF approach, just think a more experienced man at the helm might have worked better than Farke. With that said, half the speculation about Woy was as DoF so who knows how that might have worked out and who he would have hired as HC? Bah!
Apart from our own game vs Chelsea being shown live this weekend, I just noticed Shrewsbury vs Wet Sham is on BBC1 at 2 p.m. on Sunday. A chance to see some of our youngsters in action, hopefully.
Well, I shall have my 'shrews' scarf on, have no fear. I dislike both West Ham and David Moyes, so my colours nailed firmly to the mast
A 3-4-2-1 formation can work, but it puts a lot of pressure on the two WBs. Pinto is not in his best form of late and at 19, Lewis, with only two games under his belt, might feel additional pressure as well. The other disadvantage is that it's more defensive (adding Zimmerman at the expense of Josh in this case). At the moment I feel the defense, shielded by Trybull and Tettey, is coping well so I'd prefer to go with Josh's pace, trickery and goal scoring abilities rather than adding a third CB.
Good to see VAR is to be used during the Chelsea v Arsenal Haribo cup semi final. High time refs were given some on-field assistance - hope this 'trial' is a success
It's long overdue. Cricket and rugby have used it for years to reach the right decisions but FIFA yet again has dragged it's feet where any change is concerned.
I've been in favour of this for years now and I'm sure it wouldn't even be being trialled if that 'dinosaur' Blatter was still in charge at FIFA!!!
