    This.

The guy is absolutely clueless. All of his subtitutions make us worse.

We were good in the first half, but second half we just wilted. There is no backbone in this team. The players were all moaning at each other, not one player was encouraging anyone after PEH went off (who was exhausted).

Boufal and Bertrand were absolutely abysmal tonight. Getting in each other’s way, misplacing passes, not overlapping. It was absolutely awful Sunday league football.

Why sims/hesketh/McQueen weren’t given a go instead of redmond baffles me, how **** does he have to play every week to give someone else a chance?

This second half was the worst performance from a Southampton side in about a decade. I left st marys really fearing for our PL safety.

Im not a fan of him personally, the main reason I didn’t want him in the summer. But he would bring back a style of play we are used too, knows the league and is tactically aware..

The opposite to what we currently have but I can live with that if it brings results..

My thoughts exactly. In the summer we were a lot more attractive proposition that we are now. Would be a big risk for him to leave Celtic and the guarantee of more silverware to come to a relegation battle and undo the reputation he’s repaired over the past 2 years

We have been lacking goalscorers for seasons now, however today (like Brighton & Huddersfield) we were in such a poll position after the first half that a win looked inevitable.

Our squad may be unbalanced, lacking in confidence & leadership but the tactics cost us today.

Not for me he isn't, unbelievably stubborn and one dimensional in his style of play and can't organise a defence to save his life.

People go overboard about his achievements up there... it's ****ing Scotland ffs.

    Ha. Maybe.

But in a crucial 6-pointer, our players looked like they didn’t have a clue. It was really bad.

The most worrying thing is it’s all either a mental thing, or our players aren’t fit enough. The way we crumbled was shocking - and it wasn’t lack of effort.

Bless FLT with his Star Wars match threads. Never mind New Hope, we have morphed into Phantom Menace with Jar Jar Binks in charge. Like Jar Jar, the powers that be need to cut their losses, and get rid.

Haha, his achievements in Scotland don’t really rank for me, but I do think he is better than what he we have!

It can’t get any worse can it ?

I think I'm better than what we have but I don't think I should be in charge <laugh>

As for your last line, don't say that. Ever.

This is probably a bad time to admit that the only Star Wars film I've seen from start to finish was the Phantom Menace o_O

I'm going to Fulham, looking forward to it tbh as it's always been on the list of grounds to visit.

We play scared. It's not a new thing, either; we played scared under Puel, too, but we were organized enough defensively to get away with it as often as not. That's no longer the case.

That more than anything is the contrast between this team and the teams of a few years ago. Under Adkins, under Poch, under Koeman (most of the time; there were a few spells where we shrank) we had an irrational sense of self-belief. We played to win at home, we played to win away, against teams good and bad, and no matter the scoreline we seemed interested in getting another. And sometimes, that was our undoing; we can probably all remember the points dropped under Nigel, or the games where we had 90% of the game under Poch but teams did us in with a quick counterattack. But in the main, it was to our benefit.

Now? As soon as we're put under pressure, we retreat. We panic in our own end, and struggle to get out of it. Our immediate response to regaining possession is effectively to take a breath and slow things down, to treat it as respite rather than opportunity. We need to be fearless again. And we need that fearlessness to persist after the first time we surrender a lead.

No. Would rather have Keegan or Hoddle or some other random name that hasn;t managed for years than Brendan.

Don't worry, we might not get relegated after all.
