2-0 FT. A very mixed performance. ****e weather, no consistency and not enough chances. Take the away win all day, though. Swansea must hate playing us.
A tough night in Swansea but we came through. Magnificent pass from Kane and great persistence from Dele to take that second attempt.
So important to win that tonight, got to stay in touch with the 4 ahead of us. Spammers cup final next and we will need to be ready for them another one of those matches that I rarely enjoy! Thanks for all the updates working tonight so all your contributions were invaluable to me
From the BBC: Luciano Narsingh's shot in the 65th minute was Swansea's first shot on target across both fixtures against Tottenham in the Premier League this season.
That'll do. Playing on a soaked rugby pitch is never going to be our strength so valuable points picked up. We're safe from relegation now, right?
Invaluable 3 points. Alli had a great game - the fire is well and truly back in his precocious belly. Son and Eriksen faded in the 2nd half and as a result we totally lost control of the middle of the park. Brilliant seeing Wanyama back. Sanchez was all over the place which is unlike him but Jan and Davies were cucumbers once again. Lamela showed some sparks but clearly struggled playing in a hurricane. World class pass from Kane for the goal. Trippier needs to be sold. Simple as. Inhibiting KWP's development. He managed to dupe a fair few pundits, Spurs fans and indeed Gareth Southgate with some good performances against **** teams such as Watford and Hull, but the reality is he isn't a very good defender and isn't a very good attacker either. I've more than seen enough from a guy in his 3rd season at the club who hasn't really progressed since season 1.
Having watched the replay a couple of times, Alli actually does very well to put that in: I thought that he'd just sort of scrambled it into the net, watching it in real time.
"You think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark, I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was a man and by then it was nothing to me but blinding!"
Hard fought three points. Dele and Davies excellent, Davies' last ditch tackle was as good as a goal, what a season the lad is having. Dele as CK said is looking like he's got that fire again, was good against Burnley, excellent against Soton and very good today, great to see. Buzzing for Nando to get his first Prem goal for us (even if it was offside), I texted my Mum literally two minutes before he scored that he was gonna get a header and not celebrate, just call me Mystic Meg. Quite possibly the best thing to come out of tonight other than the 3 points - the return of the Spaghetti Eating Destroyer! Welcome back, Big Vic!
Now we know why he doesn't want to be called Alli. "We take points from the corrupt! The Rich! The oppressors of generation who have kept you down with myth of opportunity. And we give them back to you... the Yiddos."
Excellent win that. Its one of those games where due to the opponents, pitch and weather you get the win even if its ugly and get the hell out of there . A job very well done. A few decisons went our way, the first goal and Sanchez lucky to stay on the pitch but also thought the dutch RB for Swansea should of got two yellow cards. Great to see the fantastic Wanyama back and that asssist by Kane was sublime, he never ceases to amaze me. COYS.
We should have had to pens as well. Good three points on a tough night but that's exactly the kind of game we didn't need two days before the Spammers cup final. Too many of our first 11 had to run their socks off for 93 minutes. Great to see Big Vic back. He looked as awesome as ever, but cannot comprehend than another 25-30 max on Thursday. Trippier was just poor all round - he provided no attacking impetus or decent crosses and defensively he was a mess. I'm sure that some of Sanchez's uncertainty came from having Tripps outside him. Oh well..... Onto the Spammers.... who have just had a confidence boosting result. Feckin' perfect
Think we played within ourselves tonight mate and at times played in second gear, the conditions were awful on a bad pitch but it was a stroll at times. We can freshen up with a few players coming in on Thursday, Kane, Aurier, Wanyama etc. West Ham won tonight but we will be too strong for them, i cant see them stopping Kane i just cant.
Hope you're right - but that was a heavy old pitch and Eriksen ran his bloody socks off. I would pretty much prefer to play anyone else on Thursday....... and wish I could share your confidence.
A stroke of luck with the first goal and Sanchez could have seen red had his first yellow not been so ridiculously soft, some might say payback for the blatant penalties not given to us in the home game that ended 0-0 earlier in the season. The Scouse studio on Sky though, made sure everybody knew about our `good luck` with the offside goal and Sanchez escaping a red but unsurprisingly failed to even mention Llorente being incorrectly flagged offside when clean through, or Dele being denied a certain penalty for a shove in the back (and probable red card for the Swansea defender) etc. Overall, a tough game in crap weather on a crap pitch, with some crap refereeing going against (and for) both teams. Spurs fully deserved the 3 points, bossed the game and restricted Swansea to only a few chances. Now to move on quickly, dust ourselves down and smash the Scammers on Thursday. COYS.
Physioroom (http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php#c19) have mistakenly listed Kyle Walker as a Spurs player. If only.
Incredible reflects from Alli for his goal.Great 3 points......but I think that was ridiculous playing in that.Anything could have happened....thank goodness it didn't (for Swansea!)
