We are two defeats away (with no win or draw in that time) from losing the same amount of games as those we have picked up points.

That’s atrocious.

 

My crystal ball reveals then we take a stupidly over-strength team against Fulham, win 2-1 or something equally unconvincing with the post-match spewl from Pellegrino being along the lines of: 'see, everything is fine!'

 

Only West Brom have won less games than us and Swansea have won the same amount!

 

So what you’re trying to tell us is that things could be worse

 

Its shocking how we have gone from being the best of the rest outside to top 6 , to being in a relegation scrap. Almost like history repeating

 

Agree with this. It is very rarely too late. Look at palace and their first 7 games with 0 wins, 0 draws and 0 goals. Now they are doing rather well and have just beaten us!

Change of manager/players can lead to a dramatic turnaround. And that's exactly what we need right now.

History Repeating was never a top 6 poster...

Another stat: we have already played 7 of our 10 home matches against the teams who aren't in the vaunted "single digits". Our record: 2 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses. The seven most winnable matches on our schedule, and we have nine points from them.

Expand it to all of our matches against opposition beyond the top six, and we have played 10 of our 13 home ties, managing 3 wins, 3 draws, and 4 losses.

That'll get you relegated.

Probably so people don't expect him to get sacked if/when we lost tonight.

So Puel last season got us to Wembley and an 8th placed finish with:

Austin injured in December
Van Dijk injured in January
Fonte sold in January
Boufal only being fit for half the season

Pellegrino has the same squad with Hoedt and Lemina added. Puel had to go in the end, not disputing that, but the choice of manager had to be right and it very clearly hasn't been. I liked Pellegrino from what I heard about him in the pre season, but he has been dreadful. I'm normally a very balanced poster as some hopefully know, but he has to go, now.
