Someone like Jordan Hugill from PNE would be a good signing but doubt they'll sell in this window

Feel sorry I started this, seems like a nice lad hadi, he’s now being subjected to a torrent of abuse questioning the whereabouts of his grey matter, if indeed he has any.

    It’s unjustified and uncalled for.

But if I absolutely had to guess i’d say it was probably up his arse somewhere.:emoticon-0100-smile

Sorry hadi, only kidding, just can’t help myself sometimes

The obvious is not happening though is it. When Roofe plays we should be sending him balls behind the defenders so he can run onto and hit. oppsite for Lassoga send him balls to get his head on for him to hold swivel and turn to get a shot off. But we dont, its like we only know one way to attack and that means everyone having a pop from the edge if the box, it looks like greed, wasteful but because of the way we attack it can alao mean the only option and why so many different scorers have happened.

Don’t think roofe has the pace to get in behind defenders, so have to play short with him as well. We seem to pump a few high balls in though when lasogga doesn’t play which... with a forward line Snow White would happily shack up... with seems a little futile.

Roofe is decent in the air, but it needs a byline cross when he’s in space not a hump upfield.

Exactly! When crossing to Diddymen, the standard high ball is the last thing to do. Front or back post, or hit the byline & cut it back.

We’re obviously all experts on here but in hounesty whats changed from when we were playing fast free running football, looking like an Aldi version of Man City. We were winning games with dominating possesion, we were free scoring. Same players on th epitch struggling to win ugly?

Really good assessment this MB. Not digging anyone out here but I also think this is one of the major differences of being there. Naturally, if you watch on TV or a stream the camera follows the ball. Phillips (as he seems to be this years whipping boy) can nick a ball and play a five yard pass and then immediately looks around him and jockeys into position, generally defensive rather than chasing play or driving into the box. I can understand why it would make him look ineffectual but he keeps getting picked so it must be what he is being asked / told to do. Maybe Klich is just not disciplined enough for what TC wants.

In exactly the same vein, I see nothing to Berardi other than being a blocker. It does a job but, certainly nothing like the job Charlie Taylor did, proper full back who adds options to the team (this is why Berardi would probably make my bottom three, certainly not Phillips or Roofe).

The stand out issue for me is lack of pace going forward. Saiz is quick (usually outruns people even with the ball at his feet) but Hernandez, Roofe and Lasogga have no turn of pace and the worst has to be Alioski, I reckon I could still outsprint him. He would be twice the player if he had that because other parts to his game are ok.

The real shame for me is, had we just been able to keep CW, CT and RG I genuinely think we could have stormed this season.

Would love us to make a couple of statement signings now and hope it is enough to challenge for top two, not sure that we will but also don’t think we aren’t quite as far away as some like to drone on about either.

In my humble opinion doc, not much has changed. I didn’t think we played as great as some did in those games early on... we rode our luck a little in some... in some we took advantage of poor sides. Add to that, sides watched how we played and learnt to counter it. We haven’t come up with a convincing plan b.

We weren’t the second coming when we were winning every game, and we weren’t truly awful in all the games in the losing streak. We have periods in most games were we ping some passes together and look useful... if we take advantage of those situations we do well, and if we don’t we don’t.

This is the real question Doc.

Lack of confidence? Stamina? Over-coaching? One trick ponies? Believe our own hype? The ER crowd's expectation? Media pressure?

Feck knows, they were good to watch once, now they look jaded. :emoticon-0120-doh:

Think you’re bang on there Marcos, you get a different perspective at the game, and I speak as a plastic! Also, I completely agree... add those three in the side and we’d probably be second. We wouldn’t be playing the best football, but we’d be efficient and hard to beat.

I get the argument that we share the goals around more without playing everything through wood... but really we’d have goals AND a guy who can work the channels

Nah mate, we’d be top!! I actually thought you went every week for some reason.

Anyway, just purchased 6 tickets for Millwall (Ben and I have ours). Davy, Wakey and Parsley said they would like to go. If that’s still the case, I have three spare, first come first served. If any of the three mentioned can’t / don’t want to go please let me know, I can shift them easily so no hard feelings either way <laugh>

I went for NE lower hoping the atmosphere would be reasonable, the only other place I could block book six was in the East Stand upper and some of you old feckers would never see the pitch from there <laugh>

I said to Ben a couple of weeks ago they have started unerringly moving upwards again, exactly what they did last year.

Still, after Rad has spent 40-50 million in January it will be different this year <whistle>

I have ordered your Millwall ticket by the way. Drop me a PM and I can either send it to you or meet you there.
