    Looks like he should be leading an underground revolution against the soviets. I can see him with a semi in his hand... smoking a cigar- and leading the troops and then riding off on a motor bike- doing a wheelie against the setting sun.

    ESPN is saying we're favourites to sign Scott Dann again.

    Would we get Coates and Dann? Are we still on the market for a CB if we get Coates- or are they just full of it?

    A guy from ESPN claimed we were signing Cahill a week or so ago, and said we were never in for Dann. My guess is that they don't actually know anything and are just taking guesses.

    "I can see him with a semi in his hand.....". Methinks you've been spending too much time with Skylarker coming out with stuff like that!

    Coates would be a fantastic acquisition. He was awesome the entire copa and was put into the team of the tournament as well. I know people might be afraid we would have another Paletta on our hands ( boss at Boca, crap here), but Coates is a much different breed. Big lad and thrives on challenges.

    I think the biggest thing for me in regards to Coates is that he does not have to go straight into the team and there is no pressure where as Dann or Cahill would want games immediately. I think this is fantastic business for us.

    One would assume that we will have had a good natter with Suarez about him, if there's any truth in it.

    If Coates turns out anything like Diego Lugano then we have a real player on our hands, Lugano is awesome, shame he is older though.

    Well could be,Soto and Ayala have gone so only leaves us with 3 recognised CB's so maybe 2 more could be on the cards esp if looking around £7 million each.

    I wonder if there's been a communication breakdown at Anfield:

    Kenny looks out of his office window one morning at the drizzling rain sweeping in off the Mersey, picks up the phone to Comolli and in his Glaswegian drawl says...I need ya to get us coats

    <whistle>

    ................I'll get mine

    I didn't know anything about this guy to be honest. Just been watching some clips and he looks very impressive. Definitely a good buy, especially as his mate Suarez is already here to help him settle in nice and quick.

    And maybe Dann as well, now that's just greedy <yikes>
