The above stats show our defense is very effective but over worked because ? It also shows we are not completing as many passes as we should and we are going to lose players to suspensions again

I don't think either team did enough to win it, and both teams had chances to nick it.

We've lost the football we had at beginning of season, which is why we are again playing ugly to mediocre football.

Can you remember when I said Pablo was 2 seconds ahead of our other players, and they had problems getting on end of Pablos passes,
well, we have same situation with Saiz, however, Saiz works well with Pablo and Alioski, which is why they shouldn't be split up, they
all work well off each other, we just don't have a striker infront of them or decent CM's behind them who can keep up.

    Don't need to sell Saiz.

I believe it's already been arranged for CBJ to return to his home club.

3 weakest players = Grot, Lassoga, Phillips.

Evening LL, you'd put Phillips in the bottom three?

I would have to have put Roofe in.

Grot has only made a couple of cameo appearances, so would not make the list. If Grot makes the worst three, then Borthwick Jackson should too.

I'd have to go Roofe, Lasogga and Berardi.

Who would we miss the most if we sold Roofe and Berardi or Klich and Cibicki ;) <ok>

Grot shouldn’t be in the first team, he has been included because of the injury problems to Lasogga and Ekuban

She only got the job today. The clip, was when she was at Charlton.
There is a huge anti katrien campaign.
But she does have a great rack.

Thought CBJ was to play against Newport? Anyway we need signings to win the playoffs or take second spot. Wont settle for just making the playoffs.

You can get the Newport game on BBC2 Wales. Its on one of the Virgin media channels from anywhere in UK. Not sure about Eire.

Shots is poor as we all know. But assume shots to goals muat be high. Good level of tackles and is why we have high cards. But is this our pressing game or the fact we lose posession too much?

He's going to find it a bit odd over here. I worked in Helsinki for a while & the football is dire there. Crowds are very low & the atmosphere is so bad that they play adverts over the tannoy - during the match!!

It's players like this who I worry about with respect to adapting to a big club with a big crowd, big atmosphere, big expectations etc.

Some good debate in this thread gents.

My take... the midfield two (as I consider the attacking ‘midfield’ as a separate unit) are essentially water carriers in this system with a job to do, it ain’t glamorous and it does make them easy targets. Last year it was the same, people jump on their backs and if they give the ball away it creates an opportunity for the opposition more than if an attacking midfielder does it. It’s not an easy position to play, and sometimes with our lightweight attacking midfielders we get outnumbered in the middle of the park.

Last year I thought Philips was way out of his depth, he gave the ball away constantly, looked nervous etc... he’s definitely improved this term. Viera I like but he’s young makes some poor decisions and his passing is erratic. O’kane Is the glue and a good link player when on form but his form seems to come and go. They have a tough job and all are good enough on their day, they probably just don’t have enough good days. I think they have excuses defensively because they don’t get enough support from the dwarves ahead... offensively though, there is less excuse because the 3 guy’s ahead give them movement and options.

I’d love a real physical presence driving force in midfield but Ronny isn’t quite Patrick yet on the viera front and they’re hard to come by.

Another point, I’m told that a lot of emphasis is put on the tactical, ‘role’ of the player, and that the ability to understand their job in every situation is as important as their ability on the ball.

As fans I think we don’t always pick up on this. But the coaching staff know when a guy should have pressed, should have stayed back, when a full back should bomb forward or shouldn’t, and who should cover him, and who should cover the guy that’s covering him etc.etc.

Sometimes guys are going to get picked because they understand what’s required of them in this system more than a player with equal or better ability who doesn’t get it.

Consencus on here is that our problems come from the DMs who both need to be on top of their game, yet havent for a few games whoever is on the pitch. So for me Phillips, O’Kane and Viera are all quality yet cant seem to hold form from week to week. Surely we need a Clayton type person to add expwrience and bite.

Our forwards are a let down, Lassoga started great but doesnt look fit, Grot should be in the development squad, Cibicki used as a midfielder, Roofe is too small and can never hold form.Ekuban has worse numbers than Steve Morison & Barndoor Billy So we need a quality striker
