57 years ago! Pineapples were thought to be land mines and you could buy 6875 black jacks for a penny
... just one thing NSIS -1969/70 season arguably has more of the 60s in it than the 1959/60 season ... what happens to your analysis if you either also include 1969/70 or drop 1959/60 in favour of 1969/70?
Spurs, 1 title and 3 FA Cups, yep they won the double Man U, 2 titles and an FA Cup and not forgetting the European Cup Us, 2 titles and an FA Cup That's the Mancs the most successful, us 2nd most successful because it's far harder to win a title than a cup. Spurs in a credible 3rd place.
That’s the league tables of the 60’s. You can read em for yourself. In terms of consistency, we were the top club. Must say it surprised me too.
Consistency doesn't count as a trophy though Nsis, ask any players still around from that era what was more important, winning a medal or looking at a decadent league table.
Why not go the whole hog. http://www.myfootballfacts.com/All-TimeTopFlightPointsTable1888-89to2010-11.html
That wasn’t the original argument. The original argument was whether Spurs had once been the top club in London, or indeed the country. That table shows that they once were. Despite certain idiots laughing!
So what is the point of all this? Are we suggesting a small club gives Pool a run for their money season in season out by finishing above them in 8 of the last 10 seasons? Are we trying to suggest that Arsenal's best players are not screwing the club by letting their contracts run out? And it should be Arsene FC not Arsenal FC Or are we suggesting that Chelsea are a big club that couldn't compete with the traditional English power houses so threw so much **** at the cause in 15 years that some of it stuck? Anyone can do that, look at City.
If you recall what started this discussion it was what caused your bizarre obsession with Spurs. I still think it's because in your youth they were so far ahead of Chelsea. That's the only reason we've got into this discussion.
Tbh the only reason I commented was because of the table covering a decade and the amount of silverware won by over that period. The all time table shows us as most consistent, but I'd sooner be looking at man utd on top and us having the extra two titles. @Spurlock , bit naughty of you to call Spurs a small club. Finishing above us means **** all unless we end up runners up to Spurs in the league or a cup final. Spurs have caught Wengeritus, "4th place is as good as a trophy".
