I can't see why he should be - unless he wants to buy. Things might be a bit different though in the summer when budgets for next season have to be agreed.
Can't see it happening. As I understand it he is on a short term contract providing emergency defensive cover but is also taking his coaching badges and helping out with the academy. A loan move would make no sense.
DF has dismissed the rumours so far so we'll have to wait and see. We have a reasonably balanced squad now that Jamal Lewis has joined the senior squad and I can't see any need to increase that unless players leave. The one possible need is a third striker, possibly on loan or a bargain from the continent. Given that DF didn't put either Fonkeu or Abrahams on the bench when Jerome was injured suggests that he thinks they're not ready for the first team yet. Watkins can play up front to close out a game, but I'm not sure he's convinced as a third striker option.
According to Skysports, the following Premier league players will be available on a free come July time http://www.skysports.com/football/n...eague-stars-are-out-of-contract-in-the-summer Do you think we should make a bid for any of them? If so, who? NB Don't forget wages also come into it so players such as Sanchez & Barkley would be out of our reach.
Our days of signing expensive players from the PL have gone, even on free transfers. SW has rightly gone for younger, hungry players so far and I think that will continue next summer as older players leave. I don't expect much action in this window unless players leave.
Surprised to see Rhoys Wiggins still playing. He must be due his bus pass soon, how many years ago did we move him on?
PLEASE let this be true!!!! https://thisisfutbol.com/2018/01/blogs/championship/leeds-tipped-to-sign-naismith/ He would be a brilliant January signing for Leeds, who do not have much money to spend, but need a front man who knows how to find the back of the net. Naismith could probably be prised from Norwich for a fee of around £1.5million in January, a fee that Leeds could afford. Not overly impressed with the fee, but if we could sell him for ANY fee rather than loan him out, that would be great!!
Naismith - striker?! He has a one in five goal scoring record. Anyway, he will not be missed if he goes and this is looking very likely. So, it looks like Naismith, Martin and Jerome are going for a combined fee of about £3-4m and a large saving on wages.
Set it up nicely for him to go there and bang them in - securing promotion along the way. As an onlooker the Naismith deal seemed odd at the time, though he's clearly too good for this league if he wanted to be and would expect he'll suddenly remember how to play football again once he's got some new employers to impress
Didn't see much sign of that last time he had new employers. Money down the proverbial. Hope we have learned from that.
I think with the saving in wages (IF they all happen) we'd be looking at a saving of approx £5m between now and Jun next year, which is a not insignificant amount of dosh for us.
Hate to pour cold water on this, but the same journos were spreading the same rumours about Jerome and Naismith last summer and nothing happened. Just hot air IMO.
Adam Phillips to Cambridge U. on loan, Thought we would not deal with them after our "FRIENDLY" in the summer.
Don't do it Cameron - the words 'fire' and 'frying pan' spring to mind http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/01/0...ameron-jerome-would-be-absolutely-ideal-sign/
Come on we all know that there will a lot of hot air being talked about Pritchard's transfer and that early bids will be rejected if they are low. But eventually he will go for, what, £8 - 10m? If we can keep Madison and use Pritchards money on replacing him or give a youngster a chance, then all is not lost.
