I agree with that - we just need to win to show that this man can actually motivate a team and get us to be successful when we need to be. Of course tonight we actually have to score at least one goal to win the game. It's not the same as putting in a battling, spirited performance away at Old Trafford with 0-0 seen as a positive result.
I think that because the majority of fans are looking for a managerial change, the club would have no option but to change things if we don't win. They would only get criticism and darken the mood around the club further if they didn't.
Also, if we win tonight, we can blame Virgil for the last four months, draw a line, and go back to being a pretty decent team once again. Amen
Largely agree. The only thing I would say is that it's not always the same players who are playing well against the big sides, and poor against the others. Maybe if MP would play, against the others, those players who play well against the big sides, then our results against the others might not be so bad. (Don't get me wrong, they'd still be bad. But probably not as bad).
This season we just need a couple of wins here and there and we will be ok. See a few wins for Leicester and Everton and they flew up the table.
Biggest problem with MP2 is his decisions to take form players out of the team - he just opens himself up to criticism, just as Hughes did with his team selection vs Chelsea the other day. Liking the positivity on here today though - hopefully Saints don't ruin it for us.
Win our next two games, and we move about Watford. The side who apparently could do no wrong at the start of the season, who tore us apart at SMS, and who have rarely - if ever - been outside the top half. (This assumes that they don't win at the Etihad tonight)
Hennessy Dann Tomkins Sakho Loftus-Cheek Townsend Zaha Cabaye Benteke These arguments are always a bit daft and biased. How much have you actually watched Palace this season?
Watfords fantastic start seemed to collapse since the whole Silva to Everton debacle. Big clubs unsettling small clubs, so that even if they don't get what they want immediately, they still win.
