New Years Day - and Charlton are already a whopping 11 points off 5th place. Not the top 2, 5th place.

Charlton now have 2 more points than we had after 25 games last season.
And we are 2 places higher in the league table than we were after 25 games last season.

That's a pretty meagre return for two transfer windows, an awful lot of bluster and some grandiose claims.

Well. Outplayed and beaten by Gillingham. The joy of this is that Robinson went to watch them on saturday, but only got the formation right after 45 abject minutes in which we had been battered and went off 2-0 down. Even the second half revival may have more to do with Gillingham sitting back and absorbing what little we threw at them.
I'll skip Ben Reeves. Every manager buys a dud or two. What is alarming is everything else. With a take over a real possibility Robinson can take a long look in the mirtor at himself and the results he has garnered with us, and maybe wonder on what basis a new owner would want to keep him. On ITTV Meire is better defended than he is. We badly need different options playing. It's always been the case he has none. This is a useless result to start the year with. Robinson is safe as RD wants out and won"t want to pay him off. But when you check out the opposition and put out a team that plays like that in the first half, there's no hiding place.

Forster - Caskey and Leon Best (can it be possible to have a name that is an oxymoron?) have picked up season -ending injuries. It looks as if LB has snapped his cruciate.

This is not just bad luck. It’s the consequence of deliberate Club / Gobbo
Policy - signing injury- prone sicknotes and then feigning surprise when ..guess what...they break down again.

Ben Reeves really has been a disastrous signing given our circumstances.

I'm sorry to hear that Best and Forster-Caskey (particularly the latter) are now out for the season.
Did Best's two month contract ever get extended? Don't suppose it matters now.

One thing's for sure. Teenagers on loan can only take us so far. Dasilva has been good, but Mavididi got injured early on last time we had him, and I fear that will just happen again. If we don't recruit anything better in the next few weeks (and bearing in mind who we are likely to sell) Charlton will be looking worriedly down at 21st place for most of the rest of this season, just like last year.

Don’t get how stupid a lot of our fans are having blind faith in El Gobbo ...he’s as rank as the network managers that went before him

If the Australian Andrew Muir is our new owner, I hope he appoints either Kenny Jackett or Nathan Jones as our new manager.

A Director of Football would be no bad thing, either.

Nathan Jones would be my pick, but with Luton about to join us in L1 next season it would not be easy to get him, worth a try though. He must still feel attachment to the club and with Roland gone he might be tempted.

Kenny Jackett has done a brilliant job at so many clubs & I know a few Millwall fans who speak highly of him. Unlike Gobbo he actually has the achievements in the book, not in his own head. We would be an attractive club to managers of the calibre of Jackett and Nathan Jones once le Arsehole has gone.

    Did you know? :emoticon-0126-nerd:

Joe Aribo's goal against Gillingham yesterday was only the third league goal scored by a Charlton substitute this season?

The other two players who have scored after coming on from the bench are Joe Dodoo (1) and Karlan Ahearne-Grant (1).

If it were me I'd go for the Lincoln manager, Danny Cowley.

Been to the last few home games, teams have now royally found us out. Strong looking team on paper on Monday but Gills played us off the park first half, just like the game at theirs, we seemed to be sh!t scared of their no.9 Eaves who is nothing but a decent player at this level.
Tried hard second half but most of the chances fell to Magennis who can't hit a barn door.
Desperately need a new striker to burden the load on him atm
