bloody hell, trying ot think of any more european racing drivers from that period who weren't British, French, German, Italian or Austrian. I can think of 2, both Spaniards but not with much racing, so De Villota or Chaves. edit: I was impatient, so I checked both out and wasnt surprised they were wrong, and that Chaves wasn't 80's he was 91.
No . The fact he was not French , German , Italian , or Austrian is a BIG clue to his nationality ( IMHO ) . In fact it's massive !
The only other driver I can think of, and will be wrong, is Rosberg. Going to my family feed up (pt3) in a bit, gonna pick my dad's brain, my 'knowledge' is more from later 80's - mid 90's, and even then it's generally more the better drivers that stick in the memory.
well, I'm stumped, there can't be too many countries left to choose, it was before the wall came down so we can discount anyone from behind the curtain, that leaves scandinavia, benelux, Iberia and switzerland, and I think I've named all the ones I can remember from those countries, escept switzerland, but I can;t think of anyone from there that raced back then,Regazzoni was too early and Foitek too late.
Nope. I couldn't think of any Swiss drivers from around that era other than those 2, if I text him with 'swiss' he'll just look it up on google and pretend to have remembered.
More info . After he retired from F1 , he took up rallying . He was in a nasty crash that left him in a coma , and , sadly , his co-driver dead ...
