I'm not even sure if an equaliser would save him. But yes, I'd be very surprised if he survived losing this.
Hughes is getting almighty boo's at Stoke as the final whistle blows Surely, this is what must happen at St Mary's tomorrow should we fail to beat Palace?
So we'll be going into the FA cup break (a great time for teams to change their managers, by the way) anywhere between 12th (and two points behind 10th) and 17th (and outside the relegation zone on GD only - I'm assuming that a 14 goal defeat isn't an option tomorrow). Still very much a case of three from 11.
I've never booed a Saints player or performance and won't be tomorrow either, regardless of the result. I don't understand what booing an individual or team performance actually achieves either. But in answer to your question I fully expect a large majority of the crowd to boo tomorrow should we lose unfortunately.
Agree with this. Walking to the Huddersfield game I overheard 2 people in front of me saying 'I hope we lose today, so we can all boo loudly and MP gets sacked' Couldn't believe they'd bothered turning up for the match, might as well just sneak in during injury time at the end with that attitude
I've overheard similar in the past, mostly last season with Puel and it's such a strange comment to make, surely it's better to hope for a win and MP to change it round than for a loss and therefor a sacking. I'm not convinced by MP at all but I'd rather he starts winning a few games and turns it around then constantly hoping to see us lose and find a replacement.
He's been there since Baines got injured against us. Rather weirdly, aside from Salah, he hasn't really been troubled. So far...
It's going to be fun when Stoke sack a manager who has been bad for a year, and then realise they have no idea who to replace him with.
I wouldn't be wholly surprised if they went for a Bruce or a McCarthy. I certainly can't see them going for someone with no PL experience, assuming Hughes is sacked.
Just like the people who would prefer to be in the Championship....until it happens and then they squeal louder than ever.
Yes, get in United. Amazing how they are actually in my preferred top 4. Never thought I’d be saying that 5 years ago
Wouldn't mind if Saints could play as gutsy as Everton are at the moment....even if they will probably lose anyway. And in goes United's 2nd.
