    I hope so too.

Duchatelet has apparently tired of football, so any remaining connection after a take-over will presumably be of a purely business nature; ownership of assets maybe. If he remains completely out of the footballing picture and lets the new controlling party run the Club without any interference, such a situation might be tolerable - at least to some.

However, If Duchatelet would prefer the Belgium 20, ROT and various other fans' groups to stop annoying him, he would be well advised not to retain any connection at all with CAFC once he has relinquished control. If the sale is a clean one and he just goes away, there would be no need to bother him any more.

He has kept up his interest in St Truiden, but that's his local club, and he owns a lot of commercial interests there by all accounts. He has no affiliation or affection for Charlton, and I can't see why he would want to be reminded of a venture at which he has been a complete and utter failure.

Same could be said for Murray, but he's been hanging around to get his money back for quite some time.

Hope we get a clean break from Duchatelet, and his type of policies.

I'm not a Murray fan, but it's fair to say that Charlton is his team. I don't expect Roland to keep any interest in Charlton, but Murray will do his damnedest to keep a foothold. Not just to get his money back, he'll get that anyway if we reach the Premier League, but because he can't let go.

    Wolves are his team.
But I do believe he has some strong attachment to the Addicks........around 3million of them as a matter of fact.

He gets his £3m back if we reach the Premier League, regardless of whether or not he manages to remain, limpet-like, under the new owners.

Which goes back to the original point....Do you really think RD will totally let go if it leaves him with a financial loss..?

I wonder if (like the previous Directors & Murray) RD wants a clause to say that if CAFC do get back to the PL then he would also want an additional payment to cover his loans (which of course are losses due to his previous incompetent SMT).... ? The previous Directors/Murray's demands may be workable but RD's are likely to be on a far higher scale.

Who can read Roland's eccentric mind? Not me for sure. Logic would tell him to cut his losses and stop throwing good money after bad, but Roland logic may be a different beast from normal logic. The only way he could avoid making a loss would be if the buyer was an oil-rich Arab who regards a few extra million as small change, and if that was the case it would have already happened. If he insists on a similar deal to Murray, ie he gets a few million if we reach the Premier League, we would still effectively be rid of his moribund influence. If he can't be bothered to come to Charlton when he is the owner he is unlikely to bother when someone else is the owner.

I strongly fear that he will still have some 'interest' in Charlton once sold.

I'd have no problem with that.

Give the c*** 25 mill as the prizes are so vast.

Besides, he'd have snuffed it by the time we get back to the money league.

There's a rumour that RD is buying up a village in France............

Condom, also referred to as Condom-en-Armagnac, is a commune in southwestern France in the department of Gers, of which it is a subprefecture. Wikipedia

    Population:7,251 (1999)

    Arrondissement:Arrondissement of Condom

    Area:97.37 km²

Think he wants to screw with that too!

Condom is a real place, surprisingly enough.

Perhaps Roland is looking for a nice little place to retire to. Seems a bit excessive to buy the entire settlement, but maybe that's the way billionaires do things on the Continent. I guess we can consider ourselves lucky he did not buy up a bigger chunk of SE7 than just the Valley.

RD isn't known for his extra sensitivity, so presumably he is playing it ultra-safe with this latest investment.

    It's official, she's gone<peacedove>.
How ironic that her incompetence should come back to bite Roland on the bum just when he's trying to get out.

It’s clear that a small group of men - of a certain age - will always be in thrall to her and her winsome smile, and a juggle of her deflated bangers. This type can still be found on ITTV, led by drooling Stadler & Waldorf types Jeddez & Jonkool. Pity them.

I sincerely hope that this creature does not get foist upon another English club now - nobody deserves it, even the Nigel’s.

A vile combination of arrogance and incompetence, cloaked in a thick blanket of dishonesty

Even the slavering "Major" is unable to give a single positive achievement apart from being "charming".
