It's insignificant compared to health and happiness but this has been a truly **** year for us as Sunderland fans and here's to a more successful 2018.

Who knows which way the wheel of fortune will turn but I think we have a manager who is a great fit for us and he's already getting results. I'm feeling positive about our future.

Life is more important than football. I’ve had an excellent year in 2017. Celebrated 10 years married to the love of my life. Made up with people I’d previously fallen out with and am closer to them now than ever. Have 2 fantastic kids who I’m proud of. Great year for me. Happy new year to everyone. Have a great one.

Oh and my new year Gig in leeming bar got cancelled last week so I’ve ended up playing in chester le street! 2 miles from my house for the same pay!! Awesome!!!

Very best of everything to you all. For those with various issues, may they improve or clear in the coming year. For those, like me, who don't currently have too much to worry about, be thankful for each day, and spare a thought for those not so lucky

Why are people setting off fireworks at quarter to twelve, shot their bolt somewhat early.

Those colonists who supported the Brittish side during the revolution are all dead now. Let it go already - and have a happy new year!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.
2018 will be the first year since 1987 where I won’t be saying goodbye to my family (for a prolonged period!)
I hope you all have a great year and that you reach the pot of gold at the end of your rainbow.

Long before my time and ashamedly the british influence on the establishment of the united states was not on the curriculum when I was at school. Hope it is now. It's an area of history I would have liked to have explored back then. All my history schooling was europe post 1910 onwards apart from pearl harbour(the us-japanese side to ww2) and the vietnam war.

    Happy new year fella.

That is a surprise to me. Maybe we moved from one small town to another at just the right time, but I remember studying the American Revolution - the industrial revolution over and over, year after year. Not to mention all the literature from that period; again, over and over.

All the very best to all you guys.....2018 will be a busy year, I'm 60 in March my good lady is 50 later in the year, I'm buying a house in France with a view to retirement in a few years. Above all, I must lose some weight as I fight against blood pressure problems and keep the dreaded diabetes at bay. So Mrs Flanders is watching my food intake like a hawk now. Whatever you guys are up to in 2018, stay, healthy and happy.....
