Happy New year everybody for when the clock ticks over. Big year for me and my lady. House sale of a property in trust went through just before christmas so I'll be buying a house, learning to drive and going back to work. On top of that we're expecting my lady's provisional diagnosis of M.E to be formalised so a lot of adjusting to try and install fulfilling quality of life into her daily routine. Add to that we'll be getting married or at least putting solid plans in place. Likely going to be the busiest year of my life. I've no shame in admitting it but I'm ****ing my pants and wish all this would go away, it's doing unpredictable things with my mental health so if I come through this year meeting my target I'll be super proud of myself. Just hope I don't self implode under the pressure like I usually do. So, anybody else with a big year ahead? Any big changes ahead? Any potential obstacles raising it's head? Any big events like a child getting married, becoming a parent ect? What does 2018 have in store for you?
Big year coming up for me too Bri. We've just moved into our new home in Bournemouth and are looking forward to our wedding on the 8th September, the day before my 58th birthday. Lots of organising to do before then and decide on a location for our honeymoon, which is looking like Portugal at the moment. Best of luck to you and your better half with your busy year ahead and I'm sure you'll cope with all that 2018 throws at you. Happy New Year to you Bri and to all the gang on Not606
A big year for me anarl. Was diagnosed with a heart murmur about 6 years ago. (A faulty aortic valve) My symptoms have worsened and whilst all the checks have found everything else to be ok, open heart surgery to replace the valve with a mechanical one is likely to take place in the early part of 2018. Needless to say I'm bricking it even tho it is classed as a "routine" operation!! It still involves having my chest and chest bone opened up. Anyway there are many others in the world worse off than me, so Happy New Year to one and all!! Enjoy the party!! Bart
Nice one mate, congratulations. Organising is a nightmare isn't it? Me and my lady are useless at it. At least they're mostly good problems eh? All the best to you and your lady mate.
A happy new year from me. All the best to those with big and little changes on the horizon. Hope it all works out for everyone. Looks nailed on we will move back to the UK in 2018, as my work is increasingly back in London. Real mixed feelings about it as I’ll miss this place & the way of life up here, but I won’t miss travelling every week and want to be a big part of my son growing up. So lots of change - new place, school, jobs & life - but closer to family and junior will soon be old enough to go to the football... poor sod!
58 and getting married? And I'm the one who gets called wedding cake? WTF!!!! Congratulations mate. Have a bloody good year!!!
