Ok you’ve got plenty to say bob, so what Manager would you bring in & what strikers & midfielders & defence would you get in oh & what formation? Can’t answer it? There lies the problem, rest my case.
Sadly, I fear we may not get anything from Burton or Cardiff. However, whilst I stated that Ollie does have the FFP fine hanging over his neck, he does have to cut the cloth accordingly. I am not sure who would want the job (except maybe posters on here) but then as we do not have resources to buy then surely that would impact the potential new boss (should Ollie get sacked). We do not appear to have a decent scouting system in place so we are in trouble. Thing is, having supported this club for many years, there is only one thing I know for sure. If there is an easy way of doing something or a difficult way of doing something, we always do it the hard way. Happy New Year to you all, I am off to work shortly
Bring in the manager, I'd choose Warburton over Ollie every day of the week. He decides within the budget. Ollie isn't up to it, shall we just wait till we go down?...
You haven't given me chance to answer it jeffery. No need to get any players in. Play 4-4-2 would approach Graham Alexander or even ainsworth amongst others. Case solved Jeffery
What would you do Jeffery just carry on as we are. Happy with that? ****e tactics ****e football? Can' answer it? I rest my case
From what I see the players we have are middle to low Championship standard. We are where we were always most likely to be pre-season. Many of the Club's above us and some below have invested far more money in their players than we can, and although there are exceptions, Bristol City for one this season, Clubs with little financial clout like Millwall, Burton, Barnsley, Bolton and ourselves are where expected at the lower end of the table. The last half hour Friday night was the worst I've seen this season. Ollie sending on Smith and Oteh, but withdrawing widemen and playing so narrow was nonsensical. But can we afford to sack him and find someone we can afford who can get more out of these players now? Our recent history suggests we can't.
Oh and I have plenty to say as I'm passionate about our club, concerned at the lack of identity, lack of style, the direction we are heading and I'm just as qualified officially as Mr Holloway is.
Bristol city have been a massive surprise this season. A very good friend of mine is chief scout there and I speak quite a lot to him. They very rarely change their team and play to the strengths they have. They play the same players as often as possible for continuity and stability. Whether they will burn out during the latter stages of the season is yet to be seen.
From what I saw of them at LR, their strengths are having big lumps up top who are serviced by some geezer who could throw it deep into our area from anywhere in our half. Perhaps we should sign him, then we wouldn't need wingers to provide crosses to our big lumps.
Spell the name right first Bobbie! ends rey! No not happy at all with what I’ve been watching this season, what would i do get a striker in, change the manager possible but would wait till end of season then do it, he got us playing this bad & in the position we are in at present so I’ll give him his last few months to try & sort it, don’t think we will go down, far too many changes going on through out the team every week, well tactics haven’t seen a lot, in a nutshell so disappointed like last season.
Would a striker make much difference in our overall play? Genuine question. We rely on Freeman to create most things too centrally
Agree totally....think the ‘big 3’ clubs you mention will do enough to get out of it. So yet again we are having to rely on other, supposedly weaker, sides to **** up and to keep us in a league that to be honest, we should be doing a whole let better in. Oh it’s great being a Rangers fan.
A new striker might actually be able to put the ball in the net so I reckon it would make a difference, Bob. I’ve sadly lost any confidence in our current strike force to do the job. I do hope they make me eat my words tmrw.
Maybe not but you have no choice and no power to improve a below average squad and improve a team so therefore are left to make do. Everybody blaming Holloway but forget the mess we are in financially was created by that useless fragggle Sparkless,’Arry Mc dodgy knees, Jimmy flop havawank and naive behaviour by the owners. All this continual calling for Ollies head, blaming him for all and sundry is now becoming a bit f*****g tedious, now I for one understand everybody’s fears but bolting the stable door 3 years after the horse disappeared into the distance is a pointless exercise. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ears and unfortunately all Ollie has got is a squad half full of sows and half of silk and is doing his damnest to get it right, give him time HE WILL GET IT RIGHT.
Sorry mate, but I disagree with your post......but you’re right, the whole debate is getting tedious and is out of our hands. Let’s hope he does get it right....
I’d give him until around October/November of next year, Col. Turkish is correct in that Ollie’s last four predecessors were little better - leaving aside Redknapp getting promotion (then immediately ****ing it all up again) - but Ollie has to do this with a much reduced budget and more reliance on bringing the younger players through. The latter is no bad thing, plus there’s a bit of a lottery involved in buying promising young players from lower leagues and hoping to uncover a diamond or two. But I agree with the general concern regarding his baffling team selections. I can’t believe, however, that this sort of thing isn’t discussed at board or management team level in the club, so if there isn’t a good reason for it then the whole rotten lot are to blame. Dunno what it would be mind.
So in a nutshell Warburton's career at Forest is now brown bread... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Happy new year all you long suffering R's Peace!
