oh, I didn;t actually look at the picture of what I thought it was, I'd assumed it was the race engine in the car, not a test car with something completely different in it. That's why I thoght the photo was so mis-leading as they raced with an 8, not a 12.
no, it's a good clue, if you happen to know who built the only flat 12 of the post-turbo era. if you don't know that, well you may as well have said it was the only F1 engine made from chocolate, which for all the use it was would probably have produced more horsepower than the real engine ever did........
Okay, here is the answer :- The engine in question is a Subaru (built by Motori-Moderni). Never raced by Minardi but found a home in a Coloni in 1990. The picture gives the impression it is a V12 (surprised no one said Ferrari as Minardi did use them for a year) but it is a true boxer engine. And here is the beast, just about in action (well go forwards to 2 mins). If you have dogs that are scared of fireworks then shut them away!
I'll leave the floor open for someone to post up a new question for a bit if they think they have a good 'in.
What Driver injured himself , at the same corner , the same circuit , 2 different years , same injury ( or extremely close ) . I'm pretty sure it was the same corner .
I'm trying to think about someone who has injured themselves twice, never mind at the same corner! Villeneuve trashed Eau Rouge twice as well I think so he was a leading candidate!
Are we going to have time scales to these answers ? I love this thread and think a certain amount of time should be allowed , how long though ?
