I think that's the issue, there are very few clubs who will buy him in January for what we will want for him. If they do surely it would be best for all parties to loan him back for the rest of the season? He hasn't even had a full season of football.
Everton. It won't be in January mind, they may have a dabble in the summer but I think it could be another 18months yet. They shelled out £10m on Lookman before he'd really done anything at Charlton and they spent £4.25m on Bowler and he'd only played once for QPR. They also spent £4m on Aderinan who also only played once for Fulham. They've tried to get Bowen from us before and they don't mind spending good money on youngsters, it actually works out a lot cheaper for them in the long run.
It's not as simple as that through. All those kids Everton are bought are like 18. They weren't expected to play instantly. But Everton kids do get a lot of chances. That's why I think they'll leave Bowen with us for probably another 18months. His price won't get any higher and he'll be playing regularly for us. I don't think he's ready for the PL just yet but there's nothing wrong with that.
Looking at those prices at their age it's all potential. You could say Bowen, as he's twenty one now, he's actually doing it in a poor team. He might be worth more. They could buy him now and keep him here till summer.
Lookman has played quite a bit and scored a goal against Man City last year. Stones was another kid they bought and he did ok.
Don't think that will impact their recruitment policy to be honest, he's not a long term appointment.
And if he stay two years and none of the kids get a game?? Their career has stalled. It's vital a player gets the right club.
Well DCL, Davies and others are currently getting games under Sam, so I think you're reading too much into it.
This Season: Jonjoe Kenny - 13 Games Mason Holgate - 10 Games Calvert-Lewin - 21 Games Davies - 19 Games Lookman - 7 Games I would say if Everton came in a youngster could do far worse than go there. They clearly do give them a chance and Walsh is in charge of recruitment and will keep bringing them in.
Really how so when it's an hypothetical debate. Would I want my lad to play for an allardyce team? No . So please explain
You started by saying they sign kids who don't then play, which was wrong. You then said allardyce doesn't play kids at Everton, which was wrong. So your reasoning for why Everton wouldn't sign him was faulty. That's all. I'm sure kids would rather play under an expansive manager as an attacking player, but kids also want to play for big clubs surrounded by guys like Wayne Rooney who would be huge for their development.
I am pretty sure Bowen would have no issue playing for an Allardyce team.... I think this has got a bit stupid. If any of my family had a chance of playing professional football I wouldn't give a **** what manager they played under! They would make enough money never to work again if they got into the Premier League!
No I never go back and look. I asked. I then said Sam is not known for playing kids. So you're wrong again.
