Absolutely this!!! First half they had around 51% but looked rubbish except for Murphy. Only looked like scoring with that last kick regardless of the 18 shots they had and that wasn't even on target!!

Love games like that! I was checking the BBC updates which always seems to open with the stats on my browser so seeing the shots against mount up with nothing back was worrying. Until one check showed we'd finally had a shot! And on target to boot! Happy days!
Scrolling upwards to find out it had also hit the onion bag forced a very smug chortle from me. The fact that we held on without even another attempt was beautiful and comical. My favourite game this season.

We need new blood in though. And not at the end of the window. Straightaway.

Don't see that happening though unfortunately.

Looked like Gibson played well again, he's definitely raising his game under Coleman. I didn't catch the second half but I assume he did alright from the clean sheet.

I'm probably wrong but I think we will spend without having to sell first, Short must be bricking it.

The special thing today wasn't just the win.

    It was another clean sheet.

Another 15 or 16 like that in the last 21 games should see us safe.

Short spending early before selling may be a change of character but he must realise the predicament the club and his ability to sell us is in.

Also, having the FA Cup early on helps us while we're threadbare. One less game to stress about.

Plenty of hard work and graft with a very well worked goal = 3 points.
Why can't they put this effort in every game?
Well done lads and a nice end to the year for the travelling faithful. Happy days.

Yeah recent history suggests you'd be daft to think we'll spend and we're still in the crap financially, however it would seem a wise investment to improve the squad before we go down. As long as the contracts and transfer fees are handled well then I expect he'd rather spend without hanging on for sales.

I'm not talking about forty million or anything but maybe ten, with the expectation to recoup it from sales before long, and then maybe fund a couple more. Probably nonsense but that's what I'd do even if I was as determined not to spend as Short is.

Ten mill is **** all in the Championship but spent wisely, and with some loanees thrown in, and we could beef up the squad quite considerably.

I'm hoping Coleman's recent international experience can attract a few players who otherwise wouldn't have signed for us.

Yeah I reckon so, I'd want to play for him. Bit of quality is what's needed, the squad is thin but bulk buying Vaughans isn't going to get us anywhere.

Yep fella, couldn’t agree more. Hence the use off ‘could’ and ‘potentially’. Early investment required to make the most of our upcoming fixtures.

Incredible result especially after the Sheff Utd collapse.

Hoping this is the sign of a very good manager capable of getting a reaction like that

Just a downer that Brum and Bolton both won :-/

I don’t care how we get there as long as we limo to safety this season then hopefully start the rebuild.

None of us expected a strong season but **** me it’s been a shock this one. I’ve given up saying ‘squads one of the better ones’.

    It evidently isn’t.

I never thought it was. No depth and more holes than a colander. I still maintain there's enough in it to stay up. But without Grabbon we could be in deep ****.
