Frustrating to be sure, but the plusses were a clean sheet for Gunn and a solid defensive performance, especially from Hanley and Zimmerman. Trybull also had a good game again. The point was also enough to take us up two places to 13th. The downside was not enough up front and that didn't change when Maddison and Pritchard came on for the last 24 minutes. It could have been worse, though, like it was for Leeds who lost 1-0 to Birmingham in a similar game.
If we played the same 11 as Brum. I would have felt good, would have been confident. I am sure that side would have won this game. I even would have nearly accepted a 0-0 with that side coz it’s then getting use to playing together. And at least we had a go. DF basically said “I don’t care what happens with this game, il treat it as a reserve match and hope for the best”. I give up on him. Patience is over. He never learns, he’s not developing anything, a lot of the new signings are sh*te. I’m done with this “football” we aren’t playing. Everything he says after the games is the same guff. They took a risk on a youth coach, and typical of our board, they have picked a really crap youth coach.
What was the norwich traveling support reaction at full time? Anyone hear or was there? Poor buggers for wasting that time and money in that shower of dog sh*te.
Just spoke to a friend who was at the game and he said it was in his top 5 of worse games. In that 5 are losing to Colchester at home and Away to Fulham when we needed a draw to stay up. He is saying he has never seen a Norwich so bereft of ideas, fight and playing style. Oh dear.
Mock if you must but Norwich City will always have my unconditional love. I really struggle to understand posters who whinge and moan about everything and show no signs of positivity at all.
Only 4500 attended the game, which seems to imply that this lowly positioned team are not well supported for this reason. Farke has just claimed that he could not play Pritchard and Tettey from the start as they have just recovered from injury. Not sure why Klose was left on the bench. He tried to explain why others did not start the game but I must confess that I did not follow his explanation. The game was a shambles, but not unexpected based on the season so far. Millwall at home on Monday will be a hard battle and a draw, at best, is all that I can expect. We are in for our third disappointing season in a row.
I've got a positive Dave - IF we win on Monday, that will be the 7 points from 4 games over Xmas that I predicted in an earlier thread!!!!
Your first post mate. The second hadn't come through. The first just seemed a bit OTT to me, but as I said, that's your perogative on a forum like this.
I'd take that JMF. I said early on that this is a restructuring and rebuilding season and that we shouldn't expect too much. To be 13th after 25 games is disappointing but not a disaster. I'd guess we'll finish in the top half, but not much more than that. This huge change was never going to be completed in a single season.
We've had a bad season for injuries and don't want any more. I thought Hanley had his best game for us and was well suited to fending off Burton's 'get the ball into the box any which way' style of play. WhoScored made him MotM with 8.6 points out of 10. The next highest was Trybull with 7.4.
