I think the famous game for nevile was when when parked the Valencia bus and got hammered 7-2 or something. A credible voice of authority on defensive tactics is wor Neville....
Can anyone name a more negative display though? I can’t. The closest I’ve seen was Huddersfield the other week. It’s probably natural as Man C are so far clear in terms of quality than any team at any time since the PL’s inception. Neville is simply there to comment, not to be judged on his managerial ability or his clear loyalties. The only time I’ve seen such a negative display was Chelsea against Barca a few years back. It worked too. It nearly did for us. I think Neville had it bang on. Rafa prob just went too far one way. We should have tried to carry some sort of threat as we ended up heaping to much pressure on the defenders until we creaked and didn’t track a runner. I can’t criticise either Rafa or Neville though really. Both did their jobs fairly well. Neville is a great pundit. On the tactical side he is excellent. Perhaps just one of those who will never be suited to management. Mind the Valencia job he took was poisoned at the time. Terrible move into management.
Catenaccio ismaking a comeback. One of the most effective tactical systems that the game has seen. With the financial stakes so high i can see the PL becoming more and more defensive. Teams won't want to yield an inch and give an opponent a sniff. The strugglers will employ it more and more. The PL will become like Serie A did the 80's/ 90's and the interest will wane.
Well it sounded original to me...in a I’ve heard this before, why is he repeating what others have said, wow that’s not original sort of way.
Les put the Man City match to bed now. Let’s focus on the new year. And it’s my birthday tomorrow so ****ing let’s get it on!!!!!!!
Subtle, or not. Okay whose turn was it to get the NOT606 birthday card? Ah, Nev’s. Sorry GG no card this year.
I wish I could claim credit for that entertaining flick (which I haven't seen on account of not having a twitter account) but no, alas, it was not me. Or was it?
Atsu again -- first one on target but straight at the keeper - tries to side foot it in when he has more time
