  2. I try to do four miles an hour and it usually works but if you worry about it too much it affects your rhythm and mind.

4 miles an hour is a decent average pace. Anything more than that, you'll need good levels of stamina to maintain it long distance, especially so with the terrain you're walking.

    Good luck mate.

You can get some good trail running shoes these days for not much money (places like Sports Direct) They are like a cross between a running shoe and a trainer. Really good for long distance brisk walking.

  5. Thanks! Like I said I've done it before so know what's involved but if you don't do the necessary training you won't complete it. It's a really good way to focus your exercise and get something out of it at the end.

No one likes show-offs though mate.

    You stick to your pace!

Have you set up a sponsor page on-line?

  10. Its a company called Action Challenge. They do 6 "ultras" a year and most people do it for charity. I usually set mine up 6 weeks before the event as if I did it earlier and training wasn't going to plan I would feel bad about people who sponsored me!

  12. Already have that in hand - but wouldn't put the page o in here as it's a bit cheeky. Do stuff for NSPCC every year so this the challenge for 2018

  17. Indeed <laugh> I wanted to stay off for a while though as the whole political landscape and consequent discussions were not great for me due to my job. Now my imaginary friend expresses my views <whistle>

I thought so, I remember jangling to you about Ireland ( my old feller was a Wexford man and my old girl was Mayo), and about the old firm as I recall?
