Lawrie was a giant - ex Coldstream guardsmen, from the days when all the Queen's guards were at least 6'2". I say he was a giant, because I met him outside St Mary's a couple of seasons back, and he's shrunk a bit. Still taller than me though.

We(most Liverpool supporters)were pissed off to **** that we sold him and Sammy Lee got his place, he was ****ing dynamite, had everything, great in the tackle, shot like a rocket, great passing, and was fearless, and we ended up with Sammy who was only half the player Jimmy was.
