Quite a few will be glad to hear that Harper may be on the way out.... http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=news&news_id=689
He gets my good wishes if he goes, didn't/doesn't deserve the bucketloads of stick he get, not the worlds greatest player but his heart is in the right place.
Probably the most annoyed I got last season was Harper getting shedloads of stick before Chester replaced him in centre mid. The latter then went on to perform much worse than Harper ever did in a City shirt but he didnt get one dissenting voice against him and instead polite applause for trying. Proof, if ever needed, that City fans are guilty of judging the performance not on how good / bad it is but by the name on the shirt.
Chester didn't get stick at that time because he isn't a centre mid,he's a centre back, and at centre back we all saw he was superb.
Poor old Harper, I even became 'Harper for England' in his honour on here before I got stuck with being a German U-Boot captain.
That's ridiculous. Harper was much better than him yet Harper got the stick. I dont care if people perceived he was 'playing out of position'. The manager clearly didnt cos Harper was available at the time.
I wasnt a fan of Harps but he didnt have much of a pre season as he got injured at Winterton (i think it was) and was behind most of the team in match fitness. I was going to give him a chance this season, but looks like we will not get to see what he can do.
Harps did his metatarsal @ Ferriby but other than that Miss Kitty Claws i agree with you. He seams good within the dressing room and for team moral but father time has caught him up and passed him. The Harper that played for Reading was great, but like us all he was much younger back then. League One is now Harps drop imo. Maybe we can use Harper and Adebola(if he wants out) in a deal for Sam Baldock @ MK Dons.
He probably won't get a look in this season so a move elsewhere may suit him. If he does leave i thank him for his efforts whilst here and good luck at his new club.
