Did anyone see shearers thoughts on the takeover already being agreed and that they are not announcing it due to the fact that it would inflate prices even more for us to sign players in January. It’s just his guess like. I suppose it’s a possibility like but the proof would be in the players arriving early doors beginning of January. Or is it just me being hopeful.
Just read an article in The Sun that says the deal is nearly dead.......to be fair I’d imagine a 4yr old put the article together, slow news day!!
I doubt very much Shearer is right with that. That Man City loss was our fifth home defeat in a row. Our worst run since 1953. Perhaps they are looking at Rafa and the club as a whole, wondering if they are paying too high a price. I know by all accounts Rafa is wanted but even the most ardent of his supporters would have to accept that regardless of budgetary constraints this home form is appalling. Put it this way, if Pardew was in a run like this having had the same constraints, do we think he’d be getting such a free ride. I’m not suggesting I want him sacked or anything daft like that but he really must buck his ideas up or we will slip through the trap door. For me he simply has to win the next two home games and restore some faith. Defeats in both and I’d be concerned if he will ever turn it around.
Re the Pards point one of the big differences was Pards toed the party line and never spoke out. He essentially became Ashley’s puppet and mouthpiece. Rafa never has. Also Pards was still treated better in available funds than Rafa. Pards had a PL team, Rafa doesn’t. It makes a big difference in what sort of results a manager can get.
Not sure Pardew was treated better. Things have changed a stupid amount in the last two years. Both only had what was in the bank. There is no owner spend, no overdraft, no borrowing. These are usual measures in the PL, we via Charnley the bean counter have to do what Ashley says and break even as a minimum.
I actually do think the next three games are the most important in our history. Seriously if we win 2/3 of them then we become a more viable premier league side and the takeover becomes more palatable. If we lose them all say, I think the takeover might collapse.
i hope it happens , but with this fatso , he is like **** that will not flush .. will not end nice with this bloke ..has the greatest sin of all GREED.
BBC gossip saying the deal has stuck he won't take less than 300 million and there not offering more than 250 mill
The gossip from BBC is re-hash of the Sun non-story. The deal is already done, imo, it's just a difficult time of year to get people available so don't worry. Shearer's guess is about right, this isn't something we need to broadcast. We'll know more on FA Cup weekend.
If all this is true then gives me little faith in AS and PCP anyhow. We all know MA is a tight fisted twat so can't vent any anger towards him - he always had set this bar.
Mike is a gambler but knows that if he doesn’t sell, Rafa will be gone and we go down. Immediately the club would be worth under £200m... plus he will have to shore up the finances again. He may be a ****, but he isn’t a thick ****.
History tells me that he is exactly that. If anyone can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory here it's Ashley.
I love how history is rewritten on forums to suit a situ. Pardew had it no better than Rafa. He probably spent his money better to be fair (or the scouts did). Rafa has it far better with full control, similar funds, maybe a little less,. Basically given free reign outside of money. Pardew had the lowest spend in the PL, didn’t get to choose the players. Yeah he toed the line. Probably served us better than Rafas political posturing to be honest. He has just took his eye off the ball and the team has suffered. Maybe if he’d just got on with the job we wouldn’t have just gone through our worst home run for 55 years. No doubt all things being perfect Rafa is a better manager. However football management doesn’t work like that and the bottom line for me is Rafa has handled this season poorly.
