Alright you two I forgot you were experts on Southampton FCs striking options. Connoly is a fantastic striker who if he wasn't injury prone would of played in the prem for much longer, and Im not gonna try and big up Lambert because you lot won't listen since he was an ex legend for your rivals. I wouldn't listen if someone told me any of pompeys players were any good so in that respect I see where your coming from, Maynard is good yes I would even go as far as to say prem quality. But as it stands he wouldn't get into our first 11.
To be honest anyone who thinks Maynard is worth more than Man Utd payed for Hernandez needs a wooden spoon stuck up their arse.
Let's be honest here, Lambert and Maynard are completely different types of player, so there's no point making a comparison
Depending on the price, would be over the moon if we signed Maynard. No matter which two of them played, that would leave us with three class acts in Lambert Maynard and Connolly, with Barnard (when he's fully fit) not far behind. Don't think we'll end up signing him though, especially at the prices being touted by the media. Good luck for the rest of the season to you Bristol lads, and maybe see you in CC Round 2.
david connolly is an international striker who has prem experience. he is clearly better than maynard if you think a sane chairman will spend upwards of £5mill on maynard you are crazy.
"david connolly is an international striker who has prem experience. he is clearly better than maynard if you think a sane chairman will spend upwards of £5mill on maynard you are crazy" This is everything that sums up this board recently, opinionated, know nothing, 21 year olds giving it large.
I think Maynard will stay at Bristol City at least until January. Bristol City don't have to sell but if they think they will sell for a fee of around £5/6m, they risk losing him at the end of the season leaving on a free because I can't see any clubs splashing out that amount.
Fair comment, it would be criminal to let maynard go for nothing at the end of the season, so in all probability if a club came in witha bid of 5m i would bite there hand off as the money can be spent on the defence and a creative midfied maestro which is where we need improving -
if you get a bid accepted we will match it and then its just up to maynard to do decide. to be honest i think he'll be fox before saturday
im sorry, whos under us in the table, thats what i thought.IF maynard signed for us, im gonna WUM you for fooking weeks
