We all know that the Celtic board is not going to change a habit of a lifetime and fork out £10m or whatever for a new striker which when you look at prices paid in the EPL would only buy us an average striker. If we are lucky and he is lucky he might score 20 goals for us and be a reasonable target man. If we are unlucky he could get injured in September and be out to around March. The board pays the money and take their chance. We are not going to make much of a change in Neil Lennon's tactical awareness. He either has it or he hasn't. So are we just going to blunder on, and hope for the best, maybe Ally's bears will fall apart. Not likely, when the going gets tough for the Rangers the refs step in. What can we do. We can rebuild the fortress at Celtic Park. Over 50,000 singing chanting the names of our players, making the opposition players shake in their boots, not the Celtic player. I don't think our young Kenyan newcomer was very impressed by the home supporters. We travel in big enough numbers to take over the support in any SPL stadium bar the Ibrox. One question: Why should anyone claiming to be a Celtic supporter should pay good money for a season ticket, or match ticket and spend the game roaring abuse and booing a Celtic player or players? How the hell can that be supporting ? Should that person not be removed by the stewards and repositioned in the away part? It is bad enough many of us don't cheer and urge on the team but hurling abuse ??? At the end of the day as fans/supporters getting behind the team is all we can do.
For your first point: there is a potential windfall of £15m up for grabs for the team that wins the SPL. Our Board has spent less than a million in this transfer window. If we lose out to Rangers and hand them £15m they should be charged with gross negligence. For your second point: The fans were fantastic on Sunday for the first hour and we couldn't score. The fans were fantastic against FC Sion and we couldn't score. The players earn relatively vast amounts of money to do their job on the pitch. If they are put off with a bit of booing they shouldn't be playing the ****ing game.
I think most independent observers said that Leeds down fall was spending the money before they got it. When they didn't qualify all went wrong for them and they finished down 2 divisions and still have not attained EPL status. Spending £10 to £15 million is no guarantee of success, in fact buying one or two players at £5 million + could well do more harm than good. Last season, the team made great strides without the star or the stars. The reason why they did do so well could well be because of the togetherness of the whole team, no star figures, everyone within a price structure and no prime donnas earning much more than the rest. Stereo there is no point in us arguing because the board is NOT going to change, there will be NO big money buy. No matter how much the fans want it.
When Martin o'neill joined Celtic he bought the likes of Hartson, Lennon, Sutton, thommo, balde etc all for decent money in his first 2 seasons. But that built a side for 5 years. How much money did that team bring in from euro football and bumper home crowds every week who wanted to come see us play A little investment goes a long way. You have to speculate to accumulate sometimes
I'm not suggesting we go out and spend £10m on two players. However, we should be looking to offload the likes of Hooidveld, O'Dea*, Thompson* and Rasmussen then bring in a decent quality CB at around £3m and get in a target man on loan. * What was the point of putting those two out on loan, especially O'Dea?
What can we do???? Hmmmm pack it in, accept its 4iar Lennon has to go, ****ing boooooo Baloney and Sam-harass. Of course not being honest I like to WUM you guys but it's far too early for any team to panic. If I was a Taig however I would be slightly concerned that pretty much the same team you have now was tearing teams apart for much of last season yet now it hardly looks like the same team and looks lost in the final 3rd and being honest as shaky as a ****ting dog at the back. Has Lennon lost his touch?(I'm not sure) but it just seems that your team at the moment is missing something and I honestly don't know what it is, like I said i would have thought with the investment last year and the squad getting used to how everyone plays would have made Celtic a team to fear but hasn't happened yet.
Believe me I know 10x more than you I live breathe and eat Football as for you well it's that Gaelic tripe you know about, and what points that I made are untrue exactly?
So we have struggled with pretty much the same team? Balls for a start. we have struggled since our number one strikv partnership has been broken up through injury, our most effective midfielder and captain have not featured together this season, our POTY has been out injured forcing a defensive reshuffle. Not the same team at all. Yes, a settled side playing a settled system. I don't know how you did your calculations about knowing ten times more than me, maybe you do, but one thing is for sure, that post is pure unadulterated bollocks. Your point about Gaelic games makes no sense, nor is it relevant.
Calatron Celtic are currently without the services of K Wilson, Izzaguirre, Kayal and Hooper. Three of them are arguably our best players and Wilson has shown himself to be the best CB at our club even in the few games he's played. That's basically the spine of the team. I agree we've looked a bit short up front during the past two games but the game before that we put five past Dundee Utd. Even the St Johnstone game on another day we would have won comfortably if we'd converted the penalty and not hit the woodwork twice. It was frustrating and we should have had enough firepower to win the game but alas it didn't work on the day.
Regardless if a player or 2 is out you have missed my point, you brought in many players last year to cover an injury crisis so it should affect little about your style of play nor should it affect the nucleus of the squad, but if that is your concern that because Hooper and Kayal are out I would be very worried if you feel your team can't do the job without them. Then maybe you should as fans be demanding new faces as it's sadly the only way it would happen these days. I agree that players like Sammy, Maloney, and a few others aren't good enough but as ST stated sell them and bring new faces in as a manager Lennon should see that and he only has a week to do it.
Yes I understand your point, but I feel a club as big as Celtic should have brought in new faces as Lennon said he wanted a run in europe and all other 3 Comps so he should surely know that injuries and suspensions would ruin them chances. Therefore bring in new faces and get them settled for the new season, Also big talking point WTF has happened to Commons in the 2 games I've seen him he looks terrible
Lennon 's preferred back 4 is wilson loovens wilson Izzy. 3 out through injury and m wilson filling in at LB or CB. Probably LB now Muldini is out injured also. Of course our 2nd string should still have prevailed in both of our last two games, but they never. On one hand the Huns are telling us that our bigger squad has failed us. On the other hand, Pwesty is telling is that pretty much the same team from last year has failed. The man who lives and breathes football somehow manages to know **** all about it.
I've never said your big squad has failed you because the bigger your squad the better your chances, but yes I am saying that the same team has failed you as surely it should have gelled by now?
