I'd argue that it would give him motivation to play for Spurs, as le Tissier knows he should have.
That and stay off the pies.

Charlton was a midfielder wasn't he? I'm a bit young for Greaves etc. But there's obviously an argument for him but I'd say Shearer/Lineker.

Owen would/should have been up there too.

    Le Tissier wasn't a striker.
Ozil and Sanchez pissing off on frees at the end of the season would be closer comparisons, I think.

The pies yes, otherwise someone sounds bitter that his Mrs stopped him joining you!

It's a different era now and the days of one club players are gone in the main imo. I do think Kane has a connection with Spurs and so a degree of loyalty compared to others but if in a couple of years you're still not winning things and maybe have couple of years out of CL then I reckon he'll start to get itchy feet.

Yep Charlton was a midfielder but had an incredible scoring record. Don't remember either him or Greaves playing (unlike HIAG who saw him make his debut for Spurs whilst he was still playing for Chelsea) As PNP mentions, Rooney has to be in with a shout. But for me it would be between Shearer and Lineker. Probably with Shearer just edging it as he won a title in England, whereas Lineker never achieved that with Spurs :)

  6. I only said what I did regarding Bale because a certain Welsh Spurs legend claimed, on radio, that he had spoken to Bale, being a personal friend of his family, and had been told that Bale would be staying at Spurs. I took the legend at his word and he turned out to be full of ****. Pixie has been rubbing his cock ever since, along with Helmet Boy.

The only reason I say Kane will stay at Spurs is because he, himself, has said he will spend his career at Spurs, not once but twice, in interviews with the National press.

Bale never made such claims. Someone else made them on his behalf.

Kane will expose himself as the biggest bull ****ter in Prem history if he doesn’t stay.

Is that likely to happen, from what we know of Kane’s character?

I don’t know, but I choose to believe him.

The thing is people say those things and might mean it at the time but when the genuine offer comes in it changes things. Lallana is a recent example.

Either way I think you'll getat least next season out of him and after that it depends where you are.

We're not talking about Ozil and Sanchez though, that's just you deflecting. Honestly, can you see Kane staying at Spurs if you don't win anything in the next 2 seasons ? Especially if a big money transfer and offer of tripling his wages comes in ?

I think that you're right about someone sounding bitter that his missus stopped him from joining us.
It's him! <laugh> She left him, too!

Kane will do whatever he's going to do. Speculation's pointless, as we don't know what he's thinking.
If teams start offering him £400k pw and a chance to win everything, then I'm sure he'll think about it.
We'll just have to bring through Harry Kane-Peters.

Don't be so naive mate. Players say that **** all the time because it's what the fans want to hear. Also as Libby has pointed out, he might say it now, but when the big money offer comes in, will he have his head turned and take the opportunity ? Don't forget that he's also said he wouldn't rule out a move to Real Madrid.

If you want an example of deflecting, try you talking about the English national team's best striker, then discussing club trophies! <laugh>

As for Kane leaving, we'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it.
Barca couldn't keep Neymar. Nothing's guaranteed now, is it?

Nothing is guaranteed, you're right. And in the modern game money is king, unfortunately.

I mentioned one in Lallana, said that if he was offered the chance to retire at Southampton he would 'snap your hand off' and 6 months later was threatening to refuse to play to force a move through to Liverpool.

    Here you go :)

‘Tottenham have shown against Inter they can compete on the biggest stage with the best teams so why would anyone want to leave? There is a terrific group of players at White Hart Lane. The feeling within the squad is amazing. I’m enjoying myself at Tottenham. I'm going nowhere’ - Gareth Bale

Clive Allen would be a better comparison, scored for fun at national level but failed at International. He also played for spurs, though he does have a losers medal to his name, which is more than Kane has atm.

I don't think that the money's a massive thing for Kane, to be honest. He'll still earn ****loads with us.
His wages, sponsorship, being one of the main players in the Premier League and his clean-cut image see to that.
Doubling your money sounds immense to us, but if you're already talking hundreds of thousands a week, then other things come into play.
His family seem very important to him, so that's in our favour.

The opportunity to win everything, including all of the individual awards, is beyond us, though.
If he joins Barca, Real, Bayern or someone like that, then he's basically agreeing to win a ****load of trophies.
He'd also break a load of individual records, assuming that he can maintain his form.
