Wouldn't make a difference - He's done his quota of games for this season, apart from any glory games he was staying away anyway, hence recent U-Turn on RD & KR.
Unless the takeover now happens very quickly, the downside is another 18 months minimum in League One. Now that Duchatelet has declared his hand, what is to stop him asset stripping in Jan?
I imagine the sale is at an advanced stage and he will probably not sell on an instruction from the buyers.
I wonder if Muzza is empowered to negotiate the sale of players?.... He has a reputation of being a worse negotiator than Katrien was that'll come as a shock to Roland.
Reams said he would close down ITTV if Chris Powell was ever re-appointed as Charlton Manager. I thought at the time this was a bit of an over-reaction. For all his faults, CP is the most succesful manager Charlton have had since Alan Curbishley. Reams was so desperate for Karl Robinson to eclipse Powell that he predicted KR would win League One this season with more than 101 points, which was clearly a ludicrous statement to make. Reams appears not only to dislike Powell, but to utterly despise the man. A strange attitude for a Charlton fan. To loathe one of the ex-managers of the team you support so much, that you would threaten to close your own fans' forum and throw away ten years of work if he ever got his job back. But I suspect it is not Chris Powell himself that Reams hates with such a passion. It is the Charlton fans who like Powell - who is naturally a popular figure for the protesters and other anti-regime fans to admire.
I know the date and the old avatar are clear enough there, but for a second I thought that last screen-cap was new. We all have our good days and bad days. Better sometimes not to go near the keyboard on those bad days.
Does anyone else think it could be possible that RD will only sell 49 percent and keep a controlling interest? He will have negotiated not having to feed in as much money and will stand to gain more if and when promotion to the Championship happens.
Not impossible I guess. But Duchatelet has stated that "a change in ownership is likely" and I would not count a 49% sale as a change of ownership, if RD is still in control. The implication is certainly that RD will be pulling out soon, and the new owner will be able to choose their own CEO. Naturally he knows they would never keep on Katrien Meire of their own free will.
