2 articles about VVD on the BBC"s Liverpool page and no mention on the Saints page. Did he move 2 weeks ago?
It would depend on who we had coming in. I have given up waiting for MP2 to find himself, but, if we could be guaranteed survival this season, I would rather wait for the summer and hopefully a better choice.
Ah, of course which is now why you are constantly finishing higher and winning the PL. Ok coming 2nd, sorry not 2nd, 3rd, ok maybe not 3rd 4th or somewhere just below that.
Wasn't having a dig. I think you think I was. My point is if you keep your best players and supplement them with other good players you'd be an even better side
Prior to his injury I believed he was easily in the top 5 best CBs in the league, if not then top 3. However since his injury, whether it's effected him or he's not giving 100% who knows, but he's been quite average for us this season.
Very very good with genuine world classes potential, also a leader too. I'd say by October next year you'll know for sure whether it's players or Klopps tactics at fault for your defence.
I think it's a bit of both. Also our midfield don't really sense danger or stop counters too well. So I don't see VVD stopping that issue. I've read he's good at stopping set pieces so I think that will improve
Virgil was very good previously, but has been pretty average this season...may be partly due to lack of match fitness, but mainly due to lack of enthusiasm. A lot of players look better here than they subsequently do, but I think that VVD is the real deal if he is fully fit.
Mate, to be fair that is a good point and who knows the answer. Players find dips, get injured etc. Of course I would love to have a few players back.Mane especially. The bit in you post I took exception to was being embarrassed. Far from it, I am proud of how Southampton FC generally conducts itself, not embarrassed. Anyway you have a very exciting attacking team that I am jealous of and maybe VVD is just what you need to tighten up. Good luck for rest of the season.
Agree that it's a big midfield issue too which is why I said October next year as Virgil and Keita were Klopps top two targets so will be no excuses then.
Virgil has one negative part of his play ( despite being a twat). He switches off and likes to chill now and again. So really needs a leader next to him. If you are having a easy game then expect him to chill and **** up
Yeah even when on top form it's like he finds the game so easy he's prone to all lapse in concentration. Think I said similar on the pool board in the Summer.
I was originally a fan of his, but now I’m caught between a rock and hard place. Ultimately, do I think he’ll do a good job with the money he is given...? Answer for me is no, the tactical naivety comes from him before the players. Money can’t mask that.
If we have time on the contract, clubs will have to pay over the odds for our players. Redmond is a bad example as he has been shocking this year. If you wanted Romeu for example, you would be paying £40m plus
If he has to cover out of position (e.g. In behind the fullback), he then doesn't bust a gut to get back in the middle, that's something I've noticed.
