You and I have no idea what is in the players contracts. All you know is what the hacks write to get a story. I don’t know, and neither do you, how much more money will be available for wages. It is unlikely that Sissoko will ever be worth £175 per week, only the Chavs would pay that

I’d disagree with that. Blackburn of that era were far more than just Shearer. There was Chris Sutton, Sherwood, Le Saux, Hendry, Berg, Given, etc... It was a different era, but Shearer had as many top players of that day around him as Kane does now.
