@SuperChrissyisfantasticPardswasatrocious Steve Waggott apppointed CEO of Blackburn. Cue snide comment from Everitt on CL “There is hope for Meire yet”
Shows Everitt up for the snide arsehole he is. The irony he has gone after Sue Perks when she was around the culture of free booze and the subsequent throwing of toys out of the pram when revoked because the club couldn’t afford it - of corse she was going to act like she is, she learnt from the best! So Steve and his band of merrymen wanted the club to suffer so they could drink some **** fosters. Steve has remained in football, RE wishes he could of. It’s bitterness and jealousy. He got the job where Rick wasn’t deemed good enough.
And the redundancy argument is Bs. It’s never nice, but he was told to more than half our books. Members of staff are a fixed cost and unfortunately the first thing you look at. The whole he didn’t know the Pa’s name, I imagine is Bs as Steve was a very personable person. Unlike Everitt who walked around Crossbars in the old days trying to latch on to different crowds of people. Beer in hand, of corse.
Yado Mambo forced to retire at 26. Sad news, but the fleets are going to keep him on in some capacity.
Interesting chat on the radio involving Robbie Savage, a Man Utd fan and a Burnley fan. All 3 were eulogising about the form of Nick Pope. They collectively came up with the three keepers England should take to the World Cup, based on current form- Jordan Pickford Jack Butland “No Hope” Pope
Getting their excuses in early. The contrast in mentality between Charlton and our neighbours in SE8 is staggering.
Seventeen injuries is ridiculous. Not even believable. So much for the great team spirit and united dressing room etc. Assuming this story is true, some of these players are clearly just not up for it. They don't want to face Wigan on Friday evening. That makes them cowards. They should get dogs abuse next time they dare to show their faces at the Valley. Spineless quitters. Not fit to wear the shirt.
Regarding the “injury crisis” - - this is what inevitably happens when your player recruitment policy revolves around signing crocks & sicknotes - this is what inevitably happens when the owner spends 4 years cutting back on essentials like a medical and fitness dept
Josh Umerah gets recalled from Wycombe, but before he can kick a ball in anger he picks up "a knock". Last man standing gets POTY.
Some of our players need to man up. I don't care who Robinson puts out against Wigan tomorrow, and I don't even care much about the result - it's been a foregone conclusion that we will lose this match for ages now (that's what the games against Blackpool and Southend were for - to get points in the bag so this fixture would not hurt us too much). What I want to see is 100% commitment and hunger for the ball from the 11 players wearing our shirt. I want to hear that every one of them plays with the same determination that Ricky Holmes shows every time he steps onto the pitch. If Wigan give us a caning then so be it. But we go down fighting, we hassle them and we make life as hard for them as we can, for the full 90 minutes. No schoolboy defensive blunders to just hand them early goals on a plate. Make sure they know they were in a game.
That is not true, he has been injured for a few weeks now at Wycombe. Regan Charles- Cook has been out injured at Woking. Not been picked up by playing for us. In reply to Lardiman, I don't think any of the players are swinging the lead, they are genuinely injured. Whether it is bad luck or putting in players before they are ready I have no idea. Nor does anybody else on here.
No schoolboy defensive blunders to just hand them early goals on a plate. Make sure they know they were in a game Ehh Lardi?? This is the Charlton forum.... we don't do stoic footballers!
Half of the players on that list are kids or non entities. The pathetic excuse culture at the club is nauseating.
Players with niggles, players with knocks. Seventeen 'out' injured. Some of them don't want it enough, and that's all there is to it.
