Afternoon all. Some sun, some cloud and plenty of blustery wind. This Internet shopping is good until the Royal Mail get involved. Order something for a Christmas present, receive an e-mail to say the item has been despatched, follow it with tracking, it gets so far then nothing more happens. It has been sat in the local delivery centre for a week and shows no sign of moving. Have an on-line chat with the supplier who can only refund the cost and ask me if I want a replacement sending. Not the fault of the supplier, but Royal Mail. I know that some companies take out insurance against these losses, but for the customer it is a pain.

Just dropped the biggest hint for my birthday next week for Graham's book. Amazon are selling it so should be easy to get hold of a copy. I would like them to buy from local bookshop but Amazon make it so damn simple to buy from.

Morning all, a heavy frost overnight, so a spot of scrapping on the windscreen before a trip to the bakers. As it is one of those annual days I would prefer to forget, we have family coming for the day, so lots of preparation and food is at the top of the agenda. A quiet day with the slippers on in front of the fire is not an option. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Thank you all for your kind wishes. I had been given a rather special bottle of wine from a Chateau in the Rhone valley that had been saved for today. Rather better quality and flavour to the everyday tipple. Rather doubt that I will need to eat again until the 1st January when we are off to another feast.

Welcome back, if I haven't said so already elsewhere! Hopefully you're here to stay, numbers have been dwindling.

Morning all from a cold and wet island, although it looks like the wet part is from overnight rain. Up early enough to catch the last couple of overs of the NZ v WI T20I. A 47 run win for NZ is a relative rout.

  20. Thanks Fez - good to see you too. Should be here to stay - lost my password and couldn't get back on. But have been mad busy at work as well and was working on stuff that, had i got into a drunken row with some on here and other pages and said too much, could have got me into all manner of trouble <laugh> Hardly MI5 stuff but anything Brexit related was very sensitive then - not so much now.
