Genuinely, I don't care about the performance, ambition, or what percentage of possession we have, I just care about the result. If we get anything (unlikely) then we have done a good job.
Tell you what - I'll not be shedding a tear when Aarons goes. Poor player. believes his own hype but no product.
Why the **** did Gayle not take the shot? Most blatant diver I think I've ever come across for any club.
My wife said exactly the same thing and she knows nothing about football. Look it’s a good result given the circumstances and the first 70 minutes where the most frustrating I have seen. But we can do better if we just work a bit harder I am convinced:
I would take the result all day long. Last 20 minutes gives us some solace. Referee gave them every decision once we tried. They are light years ahead of us but the frustrating thing is we tried hard last 20 minutes and we rattled their feathers.
Special mention for joselu. I have actually had enough of watching him play for us. I’m sorry he clearly is not a good player. By a country mile he is garbage. We have seen some tripe over the years but he beats them all. Sorry to him for trying but he needs to get out ASAP!
I've seen quite a few worse over the years but yes he's ****e. There's no reason to play him that I can think of.
Wtf am I seeing people have a go at Aarons? He worked hard and had nothing from the garbage alongside him, and almost scored a great goal. Worst player by far was Shelvey. Poor pass completion, very poor tracking, just woeful in general. Merino was on for a minute and showed him up.
Let's not pretend it was a great gameplan; nobody could have argued against a 0-4 HT scoreline, such was their easy dominance. The notion of keep it tight then press more as the game wore on was worth a shot, we just haven't got the players by a long stretch. Joselu is pure, unadulterated poop. And you need a striker who - when they get a chance or two - won't take a dive or fck up an easy header/get in the way of Merino. Gayle is also pretty crap - #9 my ass. Murphy and - in particular - Aarons gave the ball away pretty much every time, so the pressure was never relieved. But as has been said this is an all-star team, picked to his bidding by Guardiola with a blank chequebook. I mean, they have Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane on the bench for chrissakes. David Silva's playing FIFA somewhere. The gap is laughable. But what makes me want to puke is the punditry. Yes, it was a bit of a crap effort from the players - nowhere near enough effort for the entire time (coincidence?) Joselu's on the pitch. But for Carragher and Neville to call out the league for defending against the uber-rich clubs should be about saying there is a fundamental problem with the distribution of wealth and talent. The FA and PL should be called out for creating an elitist system that rewards those with money. There's no moderation of salaries, no quota on foreign talent, no moderation of the youth/loan system and it's a fcking shambles. The FA have no grip on what's happening and are being pussy-whipped by the PL. The one thing Carragher WAS right about is that we are going to start losing viewers if this borefest continues.
