I don’t honestly know why Joselu is on the pitch. He is doing nothing whatsoever. We might aswell have another midfielder on to stifle their play.
It's all very well complaining about the possession but Man City are very good at keeping the ball and, well, Newcastle really aren't. If we could have kept the ball then we might have had a jog up the pitch once in a while.
Our work rate is non existent. Just look at the stats. Put aside the gulf in class. Work rate and energy levels are surely an expected minimum. Our players are jogging about accepting a pasting. The commentators are taking the piss out of us. as I said earlier we are breaking new r cords for all the worst reasons today. We have given the fans nothing at all to even think of. That was a shambles of effort from players who are weak as ****. It’s comedy gold.
Embarrassing. Can't say more than that. We all thought "hmm, 3-4-3? 3--6-1?". Nope. 9-0-1. And the 1 up top is a lump of utter ****. Surprised another Gary Neville quote wasn't "Joselu is the worst footballer I have ever seen in my life". Agree with GLS; we have worse possession against teams like West Ham and Stoke. Not surprising we're in single figures when you consider how poor our players are at just passing to each other. For me, though, the in-game management on the pitch is atrocious. I understand they've had Rafa saying "do not defend past the halfway line", but when City are picking you apart anyway you've got to up the tempo. They've made mistakes and I still think the "front 3" could be hounding them far better, far higher up the pitch. Joselu, Murphy and Aarons have all been utter turd.
I think we can see why Aarons and Mbemba don't play much. Very unintelligent footballers. Lascelles has defended very well I thought. We could certainly try pressing them a bit higher up the pitch and with a bit more intensity. Wouldn't be opposed to Clark coming on for Mbemba (or stick him in midfield and take Diame off. Would rather have Atsu on than either of Murphy and Aarons who cannot keep the ball. Might as well have Gayle on if Joselu isn't going to touch the ball - at least we could lump a ball over the top and hope he can get on to it.
Well it's 4-5-1, very rigid, but they are standing off them a bit too much. I would think the tactic was keep it tight and as the game goes on we start to play our way into it a bit more. We'll see I guess. Watching the replay there: awful effort from Aarons - think it was supposed to be a cross but he got it all wrong.
We are still in it Rafa will be thinking we can't win it but at one nil all we need is a lucky goal...yeah I know He will be hoping we can keep it to one. If we go two down we will have to try and attack
Joselu. I am just lost for words, I have absolutely no idea what the **** this dipshit is doing. He jogs about, applying no pressure, cannot control, pass, head or shoot. His positioning is abysmal and he looks like such a gormless spacka. Never hated anyone in a Toon shirt as much as this oxygen-thief.
It's Princes v Paupers. I'd take a low scoring defeat. We'll do well to get anything if our play from the first 50 minutes continues the same. Just avoid red cards and suspensions. Joselu could do with being replaced by anybody though.
Not sure it's happened in this game, but the last two games he's played in he has tried to close down defender by running 15 yards at them and they have just side stepped him with the ball. It's ****ing comical. Terrible footballer.
