They need a proper CB too, so this is a good signing. If they can get a decent keeper too, then they will be in good shape to challenge.

The transfer market is ****ed though. And Liverpool are desperate for some decent defenders. In any 'normal' market he's probably worth £30-£35m, but Soton will be rubbing their hands at £75m. And Liverpool will be happy too as I think he'll do well there.

Personally I think he's what Liverpool need. The few times I have seen him, he looks like the leader they seem to currently lack.

 

I take it that since the window hasn't opened yet other clubs can match it and the player can decide where he wants to go. So nothing is set in stone yet.
