    That’s fine
Outlaw the high boot - I have no issue with that and can understand your view - I even respect it but the rule is not currently that so you are wrong it is not an ironed on red.
You very rarely accept when you are wrong and I don’t expect you to see it.
You ban the high foot and you have the problem you have in five a side with no above head hieght rule.
Who decides what is high and what is not.
I did not state that anyone left the ground btw but to be fair I didn’t say they didn’t. Let’s say both are fair challenges on leg break
A football can hit a player in the head and cause death or paralysis - how far do you want to go with this ?
There is a lot of research taking place right now about heading the ball due to Alzheimer’s.
Do you watch boxing ? Won’t even go into that. Sometimes we have to accept a sport is dangerous and accidents will happen.
Horses fall in horse racing which result in the horse being put down - is this ok ?
I am not saying you are wrong about the dangers of the high foot but I think you are going down a path that can lead nowhere.

    Why i didnt include him.

Anyone who didnt think kdb was class before was nuts. This year he has gone onto a new level though but he was still in the upper echelons under pellegrini

Just think you could have had a midfield of hazard de Bryne and Salah.

Who else you let go who could be in there?

Lol. Sturridge when he was good?

Bertrand. Robben. Tbf not always our decision to let people go. Like suso some know they have to move on to play and develop.

Sturridge is too injury prone and an expensive luxury to have for most. Wouldn't have him personally.

Lukaku would have been a better option with Costa.

Mid of Salah hazard de Bryne and robben.

Probably end up like us though lol. Score plenty of goals but how many would you concede.

You don't have a ****e keeper or dodgy defence though lol so probably be good to watch.

ok that's fair enough. I have my point of view on safety and can actually see that the other side is about intent and whether it's a danger or not.

    My views would be

    a) who decides? simple 90% of players are average enough height. the rule.should be the player is responsible for his foot and if he puts it high that's his problem so if Peter crouch kicks Raheem sterling in the face it's still a high boot. if a player dips his heads low to win a header (the hardest part of this?) then he should be dinged himself.

    b) heading.. this is actually quite contentious and difficult as like the American football and rugby debate the authorities want nothing to do with it.

    c) damage. the arteries in the neck and windpipe and larynx are the danger areas never mind an eye. francis shouldnt even be dreaming imo of putting up a foot as accident or no eventually someone will get caught badly. that's my view... and yes a flying elbow is just as dangerous.

    d) boxing is boxing. thats my view. ufc is worse. boxing is a guy signing on to get concussed or killed for money. my view is football is not asking that of anyone. no harm in a guy signing a contract knowing the risks.

    e) horse racing is pure money. the guys who are anti horse racing on cruelty grounds have their view and i have mine. I think it's very rare you see people destroying horses just because so yes it's a known risk going over jumps and owners put horses into that knowing what will happen as do jockeys.

again do footballers go out to get kicked in the face?

I see no reason why a high boot cannot be banned as in some countries can keep it on the ground. the only loss i can see to the sport is the overhead kick

I know. it's just I sound like a **** mostly. zanjinho regularly tells me so. I don't mean it, it's just how it comes across.

I think the issue is intent with high boots. rugby tried to ref intent and just gave up and outright banned high contact.

guys, esp southern hemisphere, came up with too many ways to take lads out with concussion.

I have a question for the resident wums lol.

Just looking at the table and we was called arrogant for saying burnley wasn't a threat to our challenge for a top 4 spot.

PJS said the other day that he sees top7 as where you looked like ending up with the squad you have.

    At who's expense?

Surely not burnley or that's being arrogant :bandit:

Clever bidding for VVD while city play tonight so they didn’t know what was happening until after game when we wrapped up deal.

    Clever.

They have enough anyway, but get your point.

Anyone think they might break a few records this season or go on a semi bad run?

Sterling scoring again. He's finally realising his potential, hope he can carry it on to the World Cup.

Apparently City are going to open contract talks. Problem is, he is already on £180k p/w and KDB's new contract is €230k p/w. Would they really be able to give Sterling above that without pissing off KDB and his agent?

    Would they need to?

Sterling is more replaceable than kdb in my opinion.

Well they want to extend his contract and no doubt Aidy Ward will be pointing to his recent goalscoring record to push for an increase.

City might get away with offering £200k p/w and offering heavy incentives instead though.

See the start of a very big problem for city right there. Esp if owners up and walk away for whatever reason.

The age of the mercenarie and his sidekick **** of an agent lol

How far can they push it?
