Obviously. Bit we're talking about Mourinho and Man Utd not being able to compete with Man City's spending.

Sure, they can't spend at the same level, only PSG can! But with the money Man Utd can and have spent, it's a very poor excuse to use.

Especially considering they broke the world record transfer fee not so long ago to sign Paul Pogba.

Pretty sure (but could be wrong) Man City haven't spent that much on a single player.

They haven’t, but £100m on a CB and RB is a bit much.

Funny that Sterling was on a path to greatness under Rodgers, moved to city and was a busted flush.

Now he is beating Jose to the league under pep he is top again

His career did stagnate when he left us and struggled, but fair play to Sterling and/or Pep he has developed further and become a bit more consistent.

Sterling showed lots of potential in his early days with us but wasn't learning from his mistakes. He's improved this season but still makes those same mistakes. The guys got no brain!

Let’s not knock him either. He is a key member of the side, improved his attitude and game under pep.

He has stiff competition with sane, Jesus etc in that squad and he matches them.

Sterling has improved on his form from when he first moved to City, and in the last few months with us. He is still wasteful and can't cross a ball to save his life, but he tends to play more central for City and is allowed to drift in, as opposed to being an out and out winger as he was with us and when he first moved to City. They still paid far to much for him compared with prices for other players at the time.

He has never been a winger. He needs to be played central.

Yep. He played central for us in the SAS season too. He was much better from that role

Honestly mourinho shouldnt be complaining about spend as he has had plenty.

One thing that has helped pep (although he has gone them playing excellently compared to jose) is as well as City having spent quite a bit more though, had a better starting base than united. Jose was left with de gea who was their only world class player whereas pep inherited aguero, silva and kdb who were already 3 of the best players in the league already

Agreed, although I wouldn’t say De Bruyne was world class when Pep joined. Definitely think Pep has improved him loads and he’s now world class. That or my tiny little brain can’t actually remember how good De Bruyne was before Pep joined

Are we really saying the only reason mourinho is not winning this league is how bad a job van gaal and moyes did before him???????

Wanted to see some figures for his spending and he has spent over £1bn in his career as manager. I would struggle to achieve that on football manager using cheat codes.

    Inconsistency is disgraceful
I think u are watching the wrong sport though
You need basketball. Ball is there to be won
Not trying to start an argument btw just think you seem very harsh where challenges are concerned
What is ur opinion when two slide in together and one breaks a leg in challenge
Do you send off the one who has broke the leg
You are way ott saying assault. Complete accident
    Ref got it right imho

The champers will be flat over at they

Gallagher showing he picks and chooses who deserves a red card for the same type of incident, surely there can't be an excuse for one and not the other but....

"Dermot says: I would not say it was malicious and I do not think he has in any way, shape or form gone to hurt him, but he has a duty of care to his opponent and if you put your boot that high - and it is that high, it is not as though the player has ducked, his studs go in his face - I think it is a red card and most referees would agree with me."

The ref has a clear view.

btw we have more than enough examples in all sorts of sports where that kind of head contact is absolutely lethal.

ruby has totally outlawed high tackles for example.

We even saw a ball kill a guy in cricket. absolute tragedy and helmets have to be changed.

Francis has his foot miles high. it's dangerous play and could have done huge damage in a number of different ways.

It's an absolute ironed on red.

ref pulls yellow before approaching to ensure he is not attacked by Bournemouth players and crowd.

btw the rules are clear on guys sliding in. if both are off their feet and wild sned both off.. including the guy on the stretcher.

the point here is safety. not whos the bogger man. if rugby can ban high challenges.i think football ought to completely outlaw the high boot.
