On to Burton away next. I just cannot predict what will happen against a side near the bottom of the league like Birmingham. Theoretically we should win, but it depends on which team turns up. After the Brentford debacle I wouldn’t be too confident that we will win.
Went out for a quiet drink yesterday lunch time. Turned into an all day event. Went to bed at about 9,30pm, woke up an hour ago, made and ate breakfast. Switched on my laptop to get cricket update and found that I had been so pizzed that I had completely forgot we were playing, And we won. Please send me money so I can repeat this performance on every matchday.
That's not strictly speaking a fact. More like I posted that Pritchard scored on this thread 35 mins in he moaned that the site had died because nobody even bothered starting a MDT so edited the title at half time .
Though we were poor in the first half against Brentford, the second half was much better. The two goals conceded meant that Brentford could sit back and defend. We had 22 shots, 13 of which were on target. Oliveira had 10 of those and converted one. Yesterday we got on top early and kept it going. The return of Trybull and Tettey was the main difference, along with Lewis's excellent debut.
Can I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year. I have been in the UK for Christmas and return home tomorrow. I didn't see the Brentford game as I was in London that day and my Son took me to see Arsenal v Liverpool but I was in the Midlands on Tuesday so my daughter took me to St Andrews. I thought City played well with everybody putting in a shift including Murphy and Oliviera and there were no signs that the team were not playing for the Manager. We were in control for virtually all of the game and I came away from the game feeling quite confident for the future. We met a friend, who is a season ticket holder at St Andrews, after the game, and both he and other Brum supporters stated that we were one of the better sides they had seen and couldn't understand why we were not nearer the top of the table. I do have to say, however, that we are a million miles away from the 2 sides I watched at the Emirates!! One final observation on my visit. I had the choice of 15 or 20 flights the day I flew from Nice to Gatwick but trying to get a train from London to Norwich - forget it!!
I'll take your word for it mate but don't be offended if I resist your suggestion and go home to Nice instead tomorrow
I have done the gruelling journey nearly every Christmas . Train to Ingatestone a coach to Newbury park on the arse end of the Central line then umpteen stops . I'm doing it tomorrow and back.
