let's hope there is some substance to this, I know I have said in the past I don't rate him that highly (£5m) but seems to be the going rate for a proven goalscorer at the moment, plus it is obvious we need someone like him
We do need a winger and with the -25% from our bid because of the sell on clause we could get a bargain.
So presumably 'going all out' would mean a bid of around £6-7m at least considering the amonut put on the table for long
slightly off topic but I read on another thread that Madejski has said that they didnt get anywhere near 7m for Long or even 5m for Mills. I think somethin around 5.5 is reasonable for Maynard
Forget him - if he wanted to come to us, he would have said something and forced a move. He definitely wants to leave as he hasn't signed a new contract but isn't a 20+ goal a season striker and having such a huge fee on his head will give him the Torres effect - wait til Jan or get him on a free next season if we are still desperate. Go for Ebanks-Blake - cheaper and better imho.
