Saw this on another forum when they were asking who did we want to replace him

Just did the Prem league predictor. We stay up by 2 points. City win the league by 26 points

I can see Conte signing Gabby, who will become, a supersub for Chelsea.
I can't imagine what durge Pellegrino will bring in, however I really am thinking he stays and gets the money, to flitter away!!!

It's actually a possibility that could well happen. Because in the event that we were to sack MP without a replacement lined up, I presume it would be Kelvin who Les asks to be caretaker. And once you're caretaker, you've got a chance; however unlikely it may have appeared before the sacking.

First post in a long time. Agreed, Saints aren't great but if we look at statistics we've had the same shots on target as Spurs today and played well (other than scoring in in other matches) in others too. The manager's not to blame for putting out the strongest defenders and goalkeeper he has (if they don't play well or are sulking it's not his fault). Admittedly he should be more open to rotation. Haven't read any other posts and I can't be arsed either, alot of you hit the panic button before it needs to be hit. We are an established club. If you buy in to to the Europe dream it's your own fault, we're a PL team but not a great team. One of the main things that annoy me about Saints is the majority of fans because they're so fickle one minute we're in league one the next week should be beating Europes elite. Either stick by the club or support someone else. We'll have up and downs, we're The Saints, but this matter at the moment goes further back than just our current manager. COYR.

I wouldn’t object to Pellegrino being sacked, but I’m not calling for his head either.

I think its about reality not panic to be honest, and it's not just about today's game. And the rotation has been part of he problem!

When would the right time to panic be? One win in 15? One win in 20? I admire the optimism and the slightly odd belief that we played well today (though in fairness we were better today than against Leicester and Huddersfield) but we have no divine right to stay in this league, and on current form we’ll go down.

Your comment about rotation is odd for me too. If there’s one thing he does do, it’s rotate.

I don't hold out much hope of Pellegrino turning things round. He's had half a season, and things are getting worse not better.

However, unlike seemingly most of our fans, I really don't believe that finding someone to blame - be that MP, Les Reed or Nathan Redmond - and getting rid of him, is a solution in itself.

If we have someone lined up and ready to go, someone with definite ideas about what it might take to turn this squad of players into a team, then I'd make the decision right now. If...

The writing has been on the wall for a long time and Les and Ralph have ignored it.

Why panic at all? There's no point really. I love this club but people let it overtake their life. We'll always be about. But if we are to panic surley any reasonable club gives a manager at least a season! We can't expect miracles as can no one else.

Its more fun going up the Champ than down to it. We are going to lose some good players at some bad prices if we get sucked in.

I see a certain logic behind that comment. I think a major reason for the disjointed feel of the squad is having three managers in as many years. As much as the club try and promote a “Southampton way” and the coach does not effect recruitment, each coach has their own idea of play, plus football is Constantly changing and evolving. e.g. 4-2-3-1 possession may have been good 3/4 years ago, but now teams have moved to back threes and counter attacks.

Still a coach should be able to get his ideas across or adapt to his squad and Pellegrino has not shown he can
